You can choose settings so that no one can add you without knowing your last name or email address.

I know... but it was just too much to keep up with.  Between all the other sites I use on a regular basis, MySpace was the one I used the least and wound up being sacrified.

I have no idea what people do on MySpace apart from add friends and leave comments on the profile page. What's the point?

I have *just* set a page up, just for a bot of fun, and I have found it useful in terms of hearing some new bands and getting to know about gigs.  That's about it really.  However, I know some people who have made friends in the real world through it, just as people might make friends through a site like UKY.

I like exploring the music, videos, and comedy sections.  Plus if you attend school, you can find people who go to the same, or search for old friends from high school or something.  But the videos are by far the most entertaining!

Well, I have succumbed.  I found too many friends already on there... those of you who like to peruse the music, check out Aalok
and Kyle Puccia - my friends!
And mine is here.
Instead of doing my French homework, or my writing, or ... something else... I spent HOURS figuring out html code to try and make it oh-so-different-and-interesting.  ::)

I've sent a friend request...I'm collecting Americans and I only have Elizabeth so far, so I hope you won't mind being number two on the list.

It's been a great way to catch up with friends and alumni from some of the schools I went to in the past. Heck, I even found my cousin whom I haven't spoken to in over 20 years!!  It's also good because I can put together a slideshow of pictures instead of having to clog everyone's email up with tons of pictures!  It was kinda hard at first but once you get into it you figure it all out. I had a MSN one but this is waaayyy better!

I like myspace because it lets me know what my friends are up to now that I don't have a lot of contact with them.  I can read about what they are doing in blogs, and also see it in pictures.  Also, I can post blogs about what I'm doing rather than writing those general emails with everyone's name on it.  Those who are interested can check it out, and those who don't want to, I don't have to worry about cluttering their in-box.  I've even been able to reconnect with my cousins who I haven't lived near for years now, and barely get to see!  Plus I'm horrible, I never manage to hold onto email addresses long enough for them to make it into my address books for email, so if they are on myspace, I just tell them how to find me, and friend me.  Or I can find them.

(I fixed the link)

It's a good central place to have a lot of your friends and keep track of them.  You can contact an old acquaintace at the click of a button & hunt up old high school friends, too.
