SuperBowl?
« on: January 08, 2004, 02:33:59 AM »
When is the Superbowl this year? it always falls around the end of January, is it always the last Sunday?

Who's going to play or do we know yet? I don't follow NFL.

If anyone wants to get together for Superbowl parties out and about, please post them in the Events board.

The Super Bowl will take place on February 1st, which is a Sunday.  Round 1 of the playoffs just ended, so it's still a ways before we know who will play.  The teams still in contention are: Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, St Louis Rams, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers.  This weekend schedule is:

Indianapolis at Kansas City
Carolina at St Louis
Tennessee at New England
Green Bay at Philadelphia

I'm rooting for the Rams, just because my Cowboys are no longer in it  :-/

Good Luck Leland.......fortunately this year all roads to the Super Bowl lead through New England ;D.... Over 60,000 fans will sit through arctic weather tomorrow night at Gillette Stadium to see the Titans and Patriots....wind chill temps expected to be around 20 below zero, a wee bit colder than Nashville at this time of year 8)

As I type my home team threw away their only chance. but hey, as a person from Milwaukee going to school in Minneapolis...I still savour the fact that we beat the Vikings the most!

This year the Superbowl can be seen on Channel Five.  Their broadcase starts around 11:10 PM UK time. (Superbowl starts at around 6:23pm EST).  I thought abotu having a superbowl party, but I can't find too many NFL fans in the West Midlands.

I will probably watch the first half and go to sleep, unless it's a really close game.

Next year my Vikings will be there, if only to crush the hopes of the Cheeseheads again!!!

Good one Ed, thanks for the info, my other half is going to be so happy, we were looking at going to the Sports Cafe to watch it but they are charging £10 entry to their "superbowl party" now we can see it for free!

Britishlady - Ch 5 shows NFL games a couple of nights a week or if you get rich people's tv you can get NASN as part of a Sky package. Same goes for NFL and MLB.

Any good pubs that show NFL?  I will probably be moving to Twickenham/Richmond area. Any suggestions?
