Great!!  I would love to get your recipe Pkessler (I'm Allison!).   Is ASDA just a delivery service for groceries?

Allison,

I PMed you the recipe, let me know how it turns out if you use it.
ASDA is a grocery store. Good prices, not really very good quality...as you have probably noticed.

Aw, no Cool Whip!! Nothing even euivalent to it??

I've been looking for Lucky Charms, Cap'n Crunch cereal, proper mexican corn tortillas (not the old el paso kind), and some Lawry's sauces for my steak  :P I live in South West London, so hmmmmm

I could buy things online, but it would be much more covenient if I could find somewhere close by to get this stuff.

Borough Market for Mexican corn tortillas... visit Cool Chili stand.  Don't know how close by it is.

Also Sainsbury's stocks white albacore tuna.  It's just more expensive.  I don't know how much the postage and packing equalizes the expense for getting it shipped.

BUT I don't know about Scottish shops.

Also, menudo! It majorly sucks that there are hardly any mexican places where I can by seasonings, sopas, toastadas, etc. And there's hardly any mexican restuarants anywhere!

No proper snack pack puddings either! Anyone found any guacamole?

I made my british partner enchilada casserole and now he craves mexican dishes :)

I make homemade salsa, and I just mash fresh avocado with a fork and stir in a little of my salsa.

LoriNC: I've yet to see grits in any UK shops. My dad sent me two 5lb bags of grits a few years ago and I'm still using them! I don't eat them often so they're lasting a heck of a long time! My mama just sent me a few cartons of Kraft macaroni & cheese (love that stuff), as well as corn bread mix, some southern-style gravy mix, and proper sweet pickle relish so I can make southern-style potato salad. I hate the stuff here. :(

I'm not sure if this will help any, but I found this lovely website with all kinds of American foods and sweets (even some from other countries).  They even have a shop in London I guess.  I've never bought anything from them, but I thought I'd put the link up in case some of you might want to try it.

http://www.cybercandy.co.uk

Just click on the American flag at the top to go to the American food page.   Every time I look through their things it makes me sooo hungry for half the stuff I forgot I missed.  Mmm.

Just for when we get a craving for kraft mac n cheese, or grape jelly, or stovetop stuffing, or hamburger helper, (used to love that!) or A&W root beer.....yes, some of these can be duplicated here, and some you just cant get, like grape jelly.

Oh, no! I never thought of bringing over grape jelly to go with my Jif! :(

Not available anywhere???

How about RED French dressing????

Anyone in the Leeds/West Yorkshire area interested in splitting the shipping on an obc order?? It's a flat rate of £20, no matter how much you order.

Grape jelly is available in London.  Hubby occasionally brings it home.

I found Kraft Macaroni & Cheese at ASDA (maybe it was Tesco, but pretty sure ASDA). It's easy to miss because the box is red with yellow writing and looks really generic but it is indeed Kraft. I bought a couple but it tasted horrible to me. Like, it had some really odd taste to it. I thought it was just me...like, my taste was off that day or something but I made it again another day and it still had this horrible taste to it. I don't know what it was.

<edit>It was called Kraft Cheesey Pasta..

so...has anyone found anything comparable to Nestle Tollhouse morsels??? I've found "chocolate chips", but not semi-sweet.
