Selfridges Food Hall in Birmingham has a fair amount of American food. I was there this weekend and they had A1 sauce but I think it was £7 a bottle.

Thanks for the replies.  I dont think we have a skyco near us, I shall have to have a look on the internet and see where our nearest one is.

As for Birmingham, well we are only 15 away on the train but I find it hard to make time to get there.  I used to live in Birmingham for 12 years a while back and I think I only every went into the town half a dozen times  ::)

Thanks though and now that I know it is in UK somewhere, I will get others that shop there to grab me a bottle when they see it.

Skyco's an online store - here's the website:

We've just recently received our first order - things like Cheerios, Nilla Wafers, goldfish crackers, Del Monte creamed corn and Hunt's tomato sauce - all very expensive compared to what you'd pay back in the States but they're helping keep the homesickness at bay. :)

Much to my delight, I discovered that ASDA now sells small bottles of Cholula mexican hot sauce last week. Should be in the sauces/ethnic food aisle, near the bbq sauces and Tabasco brand stuff. w00t for tacos!

FOUND @ Poundland: Pillsbury cake mixes - Devil's Food, white cake & yellow cakes...hurry as they may sell out then they may not restock!

These were found in Birmingham (in the Pallisades) and Solihull.

Pillsbury-type croissant dough... you know, fresh dough in the tube that you crack open and then shape the pre-cut triangles into croissants?    These have been found on a hit-and-miss occasional basis at Tesco, but yesterday i saw them in Aldi!

wow! Huge find! Good work Batman.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  I love to use those and wrap hotdogs in them and bake them. Very nice.

today in Aldi, in addition to the croissant dough, i found bread roll dough (in the can, just like pillsbury).  Not quite biscuits, but getting closer!   we're eating them right now- hot from the oven with garlic sausage and cheese.

Has anyone come across any A1 Steak Sauce over here in the UK?  I currently have Leon Perrins, but I would like to get some A1 for a specific recipe, if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

Someone was asking about that a while ago ... plus my husband is always looking out for it ... I think it's only available online.

Wow - thanks for the heads-up.  I found them at the Poundland in Reading.  I bought a few boxes of white and yellow (as I've only been able to find chocolate here).  I hope the mix is ok and not too old or 'settled'.... I guess I'll find out this weekend when I make my DH's b-day cake!  I'm impressed that they appear to be made in the USA - complete w/ US measurement and 'special order offer' on back.   ;)
