For what it's worth, I tried those beige coloured box, Oat Cheerios when they first came out, and I didn't really like them. They have a sugary coating (not quite as coated as honey-nut, but not plain either) which I didn't like.

I don't like sugary cereals, but if you do, you might like these. Cheerios are my all-time favorite cereal, so I would be very happy to find the plain, yellow box style ones.

Sometimes ya just gotta have what you are familiar with. That's why this whole thread exists!! :)

Well said! :)  FWIW, I don't eat cereal on a regular basis - I can't drink milk.  I love having  a baggie of Cheerios with me as a snack, though, and the "proper" oat ones are what I want!  The oat variety they've just introduced tastes more like dry Alpha-Bits or Lucky Charms.

Thanks, too, for the link. We've got a membership with Skyco, and can get them through there, but I'm wondering if I can physically pick them up someplace, as once we start ordering from Skyco it's hard to stop at just Cheerios.  ;D  This way I'd be limited to what I could carry home on the coach!

I'd like to know too. I have a friend in Denmark who misses it very much and if I can send him a care package with "proper" Cheerios in it, that'd make him really happy, I think.

I'm with the yellow box Cheerio eaters!   :)  I don't like the others.  I don't like almost any breakfast cereal at all.  That's why I might buy yellow box Cheerios if they're ever found, even if they are a bit pricey.  Otherwise I'm sticking with toast.

Our Sainsburys just started selling sleeves of Oreos - not the little tubs of mini cookies or the boxes of pre-package twos, but proper sleeves - more like a third of a normal package!  I bought some to try but haven't opened them yet. :)

Meg, is it just the plainy plain old Cheerios that you are looking for?
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Yep, the yellow box plain oat kind.  I meant to look at Harvey Nicks last time I came down to see you but forgot all about it!

Meg, here they are!!

NOT cheap!!!

Yikes!   :o

I can get them for £5.63 per box (and they're the really big boxes) from Skyco, but want to avoid online ordering whatsoever if possible - I always wind up buying way more than I need!

I found Corn Nuts!! At Tescos in the Asian section.  They are generic, but taste the same.

I checked out a store next to my house today called Bayley & Sage and hit a motherload of American stuff. Besides the usual (pinto beans, corn meal) I found Bisquik, maple syrup, wasabi, Jelly Bellies, good pastrami, corn nuts and poppy seeds (which now I wish i'd gotten to put on the pretzels I'm baking tonight.)

There was more stuff than this, but hubby wanted to get out of there and wouldn't let me browse properly. Some time this week I'm gonna go and really explore.

Anybody know where to get proper fruit roll-ups? All I've found are gross-tasting fruit "bars".

Also, why do black olives here taste so different, i.e., bad?

I found some great pretzels at both Tesco and Marks and Spencers, and M and S also has an own-brand awesome salsa, so I'm set for those now!

I know that Kellogg's brought out a UK equivalent, named 'Fruit Winders' a few years ago. They're featured on the Kellogg's website and are sold in Tesco (£1.59 for 6) but I'm not sure how they compare to the US fruit roll-ups.

Yes-tried those, and they're pretty gross. Nothing like the original roll-ups, unfortunately. Thanks, though.

Maybe I'll have to give in and buy from an importer-I can only find variety packs, though, and soo expensive!
