scotland09- If there is no £ sign on your keyboard just press your alt key and while you hold it down type 0163. When you release it: voila £!  :D

Since there is ONLY one peanut butter worthy (at least to my palate) is consumption, it was with GREAT excitement that I found ASDA sells Skippy. The wee jars, mind, but it sure beats transporting them home in my suitcase. Now if only someone here sold proper corn tortillas.

My local Tesco (the massive one at Surrey Quays in London) now has a big American section in the World Foods aisle. :)

As of Saturday, it had: Apple Jacks, Lucky Charms, crisco, Karo syrup (light and dark), tins of egg nog, several types of Pop Tarts, Jif peanut butter, Stove top, Hamburger helper, A&W root beer (regular and diet), Butterfinger, Three Mustekeers, several types of Hersheys bars (though strangely not the original), and Libby's pinned pumpkin. That's just what I remember, anyway. Next time I'm there I'll take a photo.

(Notable exceptions: no goldfish crackers and no Kraft Mac & cheese)

The prices were good - better than Waitrose for the tinned pumpkin and the other items were WAAAAY cheaper than Cybercandy or imported online prices. I'm interested to see if the selection changes throughout the year.

Please, please have them put a section in their massive Didsbury store near me!

Thanks for the head's up, SP! May be worth a trip over that way this week as I've been hunting for tinned pumpkin (and hankering for Butterfinger ;)) for a while.

Glad to hear someone's Tesco has actual American food products.  I have to laugh at my Tesco's.  They have a few products that say "American" this or that and have the flag printed on the container, but not sure where they did their market research from, wasn't in America. There are tons of American desserts in the cold pies/cakes/eclair section that I've NEVER heard of in the US period.

We had Kraft macaroni and cheese for awhile but it got taken off the shelves.

If anyone is interested, they just released the sour patch kids candy (picked up by Maynards) in October and stores are slowly getting them in.  A bit pricey though, was £1.69 at a local ASDA, seeing that the regular Maynard's wine gums are £1 or so.

Does anyone kind of avoid American foods due to the GMO's? I really want some foods sometimes, but it doesn't seem worth it. I like that they label the candy brought in as GMO's though - like reeses, nutrageous (anything hershey etc) so I can make that choice, but I wish they would adopt more American foods and produce them here (wishful thinking) so I can eat them without worry.

I had to go to a meeting in Exeter today so, on the way back, I stopped at Kingsley Village and had a look at all their American stuff. I wasn't really tempted, so the only things I bought were a small bag of coconut M&Ms and one of pretzel M&Ms. But they had tons of other things - Payday bars, Peanut Butter Snickers, Zero bars, Hershey bars, graham crackers, Fluff, Twizzlers, Aunt Jemima syrup, chocolate chips, Reese's PB chips, etc. More stuff than I can remember. They have an online shop too, but it doesn't seem to show most of the things I saw on the shelves. They need to fix that!

Coconut m&ms, pretzel m&ms and peanut butter Snickers? Things have moved on since I left the states! Sounds tasty.

ours here in Coventry started out as a market stall and is huge now  :)

May I ask please what it's called and where it is?  I'll be in Coventry occasionally once I have my Visa.  My fiance lived there for years and visits a friend there.  He's become quite fond of several products on his visits here so he may check it out even before I get there.

Thanks!!!
Happily ever after...

Probably been mentioned on here plenty of times....we went to the Christmas market in Manchester yesterday and there are a couple of American candy stores (Americandy) in the city centre. There was also a stall in the Town Hall and DW bought Twinkies! And asked if she could have the empty box!

Our Tesco at Surrey Quays has restocked its American section - my husband came home last night with FOUR tetrapacks of Borden's Egg Nog! Yesss!

They're also stocking Meyer lemons in the produce section now, so it looks like I'm baking this weekend...
