More peanut butter news...
« on: May 16, 2006, 04:37:57 PM »
Just in case someone wanted to know...

Aldi makes a peanut butter for 79p.... made in Fitzgerald, GA.  It's as American as American can get.... close to the same ingredients and texture as Skippy...

Really!?! Are you not suppose to eat PB when you are pregnant. I eat PB every day!! (I am not pregnant, but would like to be in a few years  ;))

I love Peanut Butter! My friend came for a visit last month and brought 3 Costco size jars (that was a fantastic surprise) and then the next week my MIL sent 2 more jars in my B-day package. I think I'm set till I go home for Christmas.  ;D

Only if you have any type of allergy...  :-\\\\

I have hayfever so they recommend that I don't eat it ..though it's only a theory they have at this moment.

The peanut butter is still in the smaller sized jars, but make sure you check that it says it's made in Fitzgerald, GA. :-)

I noticed that peanut butter a few weeks ago but I have a few jars of Skippy from my last trip to Sainsbury's (we don't have one in our city) so I didn't bother picking any up to try it. Good to know it is similar if I run out before I make it back to Sainsbury's!

This is good news!  I am a big lover of peanut butter.

Do they not have natural PB there?  That's what I'm used to eating, so I HOPE it does NOT taste like Jiff:)

I couldn't find it on my last visit.  I was very upset because I don't like Skippy or Jiff either.

Oh yes you can be in natural peanut butter heaven ... :-)

they go have a few brands available in the Heath Food section and in Heath food stores as well as with the regular peanut butters.... I have found it in Sainsburys. One brand is called Whole Earth.

It does not separate like Smuckers natural in the USA, but it has the same taste.

There's plenty of natural peanut butter here! And it's lovely!! (I'm not a Jiff fan either)

I'm another of the "not too fond of Skippy / Jif" sorts. I LOVE normal peanut butter here - I quit buying natural stuff because to me the run-of-the-mill stuff here (our fav. is Waitrose's own brand) is fine - it's not nearly as sweet as American peanut butter which is why I used to buy the natural stuff in the US.

I'll never forget the look on dh's face when he first tasted Skippy - he couldn't believe how sweet it is!!

If you don't have an Aldi near you I've seen that brand of peanut butter in Lidl.

I have never seen Sunpat or any other common store brand in the UK separate like the natural peanut butters do.

I was just thinking that same thing.... We use Waitrose's own brand which is not "natural" and it doesn't separate.
