Dear Applicant

Thank you for your recent enquiry concerning the entry clearance regulations for the United Kingdom.  The entry clearance (visa) may be obtained from this office either by mail or in person (with an appointment).

BY MAIL
You may make application and pay on-line at www.britainusa.com, then send a copy of the application form along with required documents (see list) by a certified method of mailing (Express Mail, Fedex, UPS etc).  Processing time is about 10 working days. However, at times we need to request further information from applicants.  Please allow sufficient time for this eventuality. In some cases you may be required attend an interview at the Consulate; you will be notified of this.

IN PERSON
In person applications are accepted between 8.30am–11.30am Monday to Friday by appointment only (booked online only – not by telephone).  Please complete an online application and bring a copy, together with all required documents to the interview. In most cases, visas will be issued the same day if all requirements are met and we are satisfied with your application. It is your responsibility to allow sufficient travel time to meet your scheduled appointment – applicants arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be seen, and will be required to re-schedule an appointment on a later date.

Please note that we cannot accept any liability for the cost of airline tickets.  We normally ask to see airline bookings in the form of a Travel Agent Itinerary.  Please, therefore, do not buy non-refundable airline tickets.  If you have any questions, please call before mailing any documents or coming in to our office, this will help to avoid delays.

Yours Sincerely,
