Sometimes it seems like September is *ages* away, because there's so many steps to go through before I get there!  I'm in a holding pattern right now- there's not much I can do to move things forward at this point, and it's just waiting, waiting and more waiting for things to come in the mail from my university and for my loans to go through.  The boy and I are doing well, though- our relationship is very very new, but it gets stronger every day :D

pkessler- yay about the vacation! and the wedding!  How completely exciting :)

Aless- I agree with Carrie, hints aren't going to cut it at this point.  If you're unhappy, just let him know flat out and then you guys can work on it from there.

only.... 7.5 more 10-day increments for me (I love that method of counting down, Candice!)

Add me to the count down to September list. We are going to Jamaica on 6th and if things go as planned we will be getting married there...  :)

That's SO exciting!!!!

Congratulations to all of you. I know that September seems far away, but it is a great feeling to look forward to something and how the excitement builds as it gets closer. Hang in there everybody and enjoy living today and looking forward to September!  :)

Thanks guys.  We had a talk yesterday.  Not sure if it did a ton of good, but at least I feel a little better.  We'll see what happens...

It's been quiet in this thread.....how's everybody doing?

It seems like waiting, waiting and more waiting is the order of the day over here *sigh*  Student loans are still chugging away- once they're approved everything will kick into high gear, but that won't be for a couple weeks yet.  I am a little freaked out by my ticker saying less than 2 months until I move, though- every time I see it my mind goes "but I'm not ready yet!!"  But September really isn't that far away....

(How strange, no activity for weeks and just as I go to post Andrea.'s post shows up!)

Check out my ticker - it no longer says "until I move to Wales"!  Because we aren't.  We're going to Bristol.  Gavin is going to start looking for flats and hopefully he'll find something that will allow the cats and dog by the beginning of August.

We had really wanted to stay in Wales, but after his lack of luck with the job hunt and talking to a career adviser at his old Uni we decided that the best thing to do was move to Bristol (out of the list of places we gave the guy).  Actually we were told the best thing to do would be to move to London, but we don't want to.  It was nice to have someone give us firm support in choosing a place to live.  He also reassured Gavin about his job search and gave him a couple tips.  So Gav feels a lot better now.

I'm still not thrilled about converting dollars to pounds so that we can rent a flat when neither of us will have jobs.  But you do what you've gotta do.  Right?

How's everyone else?  Hanging in there?  Some of you are rapidly approaching your 1 month mark!  Yikes!

hehe, it was actually your post in your other thread that inspired me to come post here, Carrie...so not exactly a coincidence ;)

I'm doing well.  111 days left!

I haven't really had a lot happening lately.  Just trudging through each day and trying to prepare as much I can for the move.  I'm nowhere near as ready as I should be, though!

Hey everyone,

I am ok as well I have like 7 weeks left, I am desperatly trying to sell my car, and just get everything done.

I put in my resignation letter at work today and that went really really well, better than expected.  Everyone HATES that I am leaving and honestly it is kind of flattering.

Everything seems to be falling into place except this car thing (arggh) but ehh who knows.

We have had some set backs, Dillinger not being able to go right now, and Roy faces surgery on July 26th but other than that I guess I am ok.

I have been freaking out only every other day, but other than that  I am cool.

Finally bought my plane ticket (eek!)  My "unofficial" departure date has now become official- I am, in fact, leaving for the UK on September 7th  ;D

Everything's starting to come together- I've got my ticket, and both of my student loans were approved within days of each other this week.  Now I have to concentrate on packing up my apartment in North Carolina and moving home to Texas exactly two weeks from now....and then I'll be sending in all my visa stuff on July 31!

Congratulations on making things official - from funding to plane tickets!  It's great that it's all starting to come together for you.

I feel like everything is starting to fall apart for me.  Is it normal for the nausea to be increasing as my ticker time gets shorter and shorter?  My husband is still jobless and we are still homeless.   So I can't even apply for my visa and start really looking for work myself.  Most of the agencies want me to have my visa in hand before they'll talk to me.  I'm being evicted in 6 weeks and have to have all of my moving stuff done by then.  Then I'm just sitting around and waiting for 3 weeks (well, I'll be desperately trying to finish up my masters thesis).  Oh, things seriously need to start happening soon.  Like this week.  Or I think I may loose it completely.

yep, I'm counting down the days too...46 to go!  ;D

I bought the updated version of The Rough Guide to England this afternoon, which resulted in flashbacks to the *last* time I moved to England, back in February 2005 for a semester abroad.  I still have a lot of my preparation stuff that I made for that move (packing lists, shopping lists, to-do's, etc) and it's been weird (but in an exciting way!) to go through all that stuff and realize that I'm doing it all over again, and this time it's for at least a year, probably two.  Blows my mind.

I'm moving out of my apartment here in NC and back to my parents' house in Texas this coming Friday and Saturday, and I should be able to put my visa application in the mail a week from tomorrow as planned once I get home.  After that it's full speed ahead with packing and shopping and god knows how many doctors appointments before I head off!
