I really wouldn't be shocked if one of us sat down beside the other... I am flying BA with my doggie, so that's two of us.  I will add up4tea to the list, I did see that was a great day for her.

Ohh it is getting so close and I have so much to do!!!!  BREATHE.....

Well Memorial day on Monday that is the start of our countdown summer.

You all have to come back to this thread when you get there and cheer me on to October!  :P  At least momentarily, anyway, to tell me how great the reunions were.  :)

I'm down to 161 days.  So that means that the rest of you are about a month (at most) away from it being 100 days.  :D  That's not hard to do.  My birthday (April 10th) is on the 100th day of the year, so just think about how long the time between New Year's and the beginning of April felt.  It went pretty quickly for me.

I found that having a countdown helps quite a bit.  I pace myself by looking forward to the next 10 day increment, and think "That went pretty quickly!  I just have to do that...16 more times!"  It makes it seem a lot shorter that way, for some reason.

Candice,

I will be back to cheer you on that is for def!!!!!

Ok out of all the counter downers (he he) am I the first to go???  I think I will lead the way and make sure the path is safe.   Then when I get over and am safe and sound and get my supply of smooches I will repost here as well as in the reunion stories because I can't wait for that.

So close I can almost feel it.

Ok I am counting in days.....but the 100 day thing does work for me too.  When is the 100th day????

What is everyone's next milestone???   Mine is this weekend, my Saturday job is ending as well as its Memorial Day I will have to look to see when the next milestone is after that.

Mine is this weekend too.  I'm going up to the house my parents are in the process of retiring to and will be having a garage sale on Saturday.  And my dog will get to play with his "cousins" and "uncle".  He likes that a lot, and he likes running and jumping through the woods.  It makes me happy to see him happy.

And, due to the wonders of One Suite, I still get to talk to my husband every day.

Zeusy - your 100th day will be on Friday!  I think you are on 103 right now.

I WAS counting down to September, but who knows now?!?!!  It did change to August.  But now, we have decided that I need to find a job before I move over...not so easy!

The summer will pass REALLY quickly and we will all be reunited soon!

I think I have 118 days left.  Since I'm so busy and motivated at work today I just numbered the days on (one of) my countdown calendar(s).  I don't know that it is healthy to have so many.  I have three in my office.  And one at home.  And my little ticker down there.

Mekaw - are you a specialist/in a field where they are likely to hire someone still living aboard?  I sure hope so, it was so sad reading about the decision you made after your last weekend together.

Bath?! You are so lucky -- i love that countryside. <3

I do all my countdowns by milestones. Rather than count in "weeks" we count in "Fridays" .... as in, there are 6 Fridays until he arrives in the US to visit... and there are 6 fridays after he leaves until I fly to him! 6 Fridays is totally manageable. Just think of all the ways you could spend your fridays/weekends, and then (this is the key) BOOK THEM UP! It's amazing how fast you scratch them off your list when you have each weekend to look forward to.

In terms of the days in between, well I'm ordinarily busy then. =)

Counting in days is just too depressing, so I like to do bigger increments liike weeks or months.  As in, it's 3 months and 1 week until I (hopefully) land in the UK!

What are other people going over for?  September seems like a prime month for school, but I know there's other reasons out there! (and if it's for school...do you have your tickets already?  So early!  I'm waiting until after I get my visa.)
BUNAC: 9/2004 - 12/2004. Student visa: 1/2005 - 7/2005. Student visa #2: 9/2006 - 1/2008. FLR(IGS): 1/2008 - 10/2008. FLR(M): 10/2008 - 10/2010. ILR 10/2010!!

I leaving in September because that is the month that my pets' 6 month quarantine free period is over.  Otherwise I'd be over as soon as my husband gets a job.   ::)  Oh well.

I'm starting to come around to counting in days, as long as I don't tick them off one at a time.  Candice's 10-day increments seem ok.  Having a combination of counting methods let me choose which ever one seems shortest at the time.  Days, weeks, months, milestones, regularly occurring activities - I'm using them all!   ;)  Oh, we'll be putting in the vegetable garden next week - germination and harvest times will make good countdowns too.  And the list grows.   ;D

If summer weather would hurry up and get here that would help too.

Mekaw so why does it keep changing?
Mostly because I'm having some medical issues that I would like resolved here in the US.  Also, there is a lot going on in my BF's business right now which may cause him to move...I'm secretly hoping to the US!  So he and I discussed putting the relocation off until these things are sorted out.  I'm hoping it will all be sorted soon!!

Mekaw - are you a specialist/in a field where they are likely to hire someone still living aboard? I sure hope so, it was so sad reading about the decision you made after your last weekend together.
Yes, I hope  :) I have found a few postings and I have some contacts in the UK with their feelers out. I can get pretty impatient because I'm not the type to sit back and wait...When I make a decision I go for it...BF reminds me the sense of urgency is different in the UK and that although I've applied for work, it could take a few months to hear anything.  I could apply for a transfer with my company, but I'd have to move to our Global HQ in Switzerland first.  I'd prefer to say here.

He just wants me to come over ASAP and find a job once I get there.  If I have to have this conversation with him once more!!!  [smiley=smash.gif]  #1 - I can't; and #2 - I've done this before in a past relationship and it was horrible.  I hated not working, mostly for social reasons.  I don't want to go down that road again!  I joked with him when he was here last we should get married and not tell our families so I can come over as his spouse and WORK!!!!  We can have a proper wedding later.  He actually considered it for a few minutes before telling me I was delusional!

I really want to be there by September, that's my goal!  I'm just keeping myself as busy as possible and doing all I can to find a job.  I know the summer is going to go fast and I'm happy for all of you that have your MOVE DATES confirmed!!  :)

lol! A month sounds too depressing to me, hence the fridays. :X Then again, thinking about it at all is depressing. :\\\'(

I chose Sept 4th because I found the cheapest ticket for that day! Plus, it allows enough time for the visa, enough time for families to adjust to the news, and enough time for me to pack. Plusplus, it's a national holiday so my parents won't be working, and I'll have the whole weekend for last-minute stuff.
