I'm going back to school in September.. Which means I can say piss off to retail forever whilst sticking two fingers up to where I work.

well...I was (counting down til September 6th) , until this week

now I don't think I will be going back then after all, at least not as planned, because I can't afford to lose this great new job... unless my partner is ready to take our relationship to "the next level" and make some kind of long range commitment
I need to start looking out for myself instead of always being the one to sacrifice everything desperately trying to make a relationship work

:( up4tea...I know you were really looking forward to that trip.  You are right, you do need to put yourself first.  Sometimes just doing your own thing makes a relationship work too.  I know it's dissappointing when things aren't going as previously planned, but I really believe everything happens for a reason.

zuesy99 - Well done on the night out!  I'm glad you had fun.  I sometimes think that men can sense when a woman is in a serious relationship, sometimes the ring gives it away, but I really think they know because then they think it's safe to flirt with you.   NO STRINGS!  It's funny because I was single for a really long time before I met my bf and about a week after I met him I started getting hit on in all the shops I do my errands in and at my gym! I was a little miffed because I've been going to these places for years and no one ever said boo to me!  It is a nice little ego boost though. :)

We also had the "break" conversation a few weeks back.  Not a break from us, but a break from the stress of moving and getting married.  I brought it up and yes, it didn't go over very well either.  I just felt like I'm the one doing all the work to get things done and I was tired of it.  Glad to hear you are back on the flow!

Candice - I'm glad they released him.  Hopefully it was just a one off and things will be fine now.

Happyutopia - Your job sounds horrible.  Well, actually, your boss sounds horrible.  September will be here before you know it.

up4tea - I totally understand you not wanting to give up your job, especially when the job offered turned out to be so much better than you were expecting.  Surprise plane tickets are fine, if the person being surprised can actually use them.  If not, they sound like a giant headache.  Good luck figuring things out.

Today was a definite ebb day.  I was miserable from the time I woke up, had a headache all day and spent 2 hours moaning on the phone to my husband.  Probably not the best way to spend my phone minutes.  I took a nap and feel a little better now.  My neighbor and I got our garden planted, and that was my next countdown milestone.  So that was nice to accomplish.  We've got tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, jalapenos, green beans and onions.  The beans should be ready by the middle of July.

I'm dreading going to work tomorrow morning.  But if I can just make it to next Sunday I'll be at 100 days.  Also, my puppy graduates from his beginner obedience class tomorrow and we start advanced obedience - that is my next milestone.  (They seem to be really close together lately  :P )

Ha Ha,

Did anyone notice we all seem to hit the Ebb like a Domino effect...one hits it then the rest of us fall?

Weird......I hope we all get through this and when September comes and goes we can all toast to each other and say WE MADE IT!

I'm torn between looking forward to having a steady wage while waitressing over there, but you lose the surprise element of walking out with tons of money on a lucky night.  You do make SOME tips in the UK, but not enough to live on, and a paycheck is much more important.  I like paychecks, and I don't get them now.  I am looking forward to working in a different place, because while it'll be the same job, the locale-change makes all the difference.

I am also counting down to September when I officially move to London and head out on a 3 week vacation in the South of France with the London-based boyfriend.  We have been trans-atlantic long distance for 13 months now (since we met).  I cannot wait to try the real thing.

Whew! One hurdle cleared...my private student loan was (conditionally) approved! yippee :)  And the person who processes American student loans at my uni is back from his business trip tomorrow so I'll finally get to talk to him and ask him all my questions.  The student loan process is pretty rough, though- I'm worried that I'm not going to have enough time to get everything finalized (I'm shooting for the end of July, but with all the bureaucracy/red tape who knows??)  But right now it's looking like I'm on track to apply for the visa during the first week of August- hopefully it'll stay that way!

(Ooh, now that my loan's been approved that means I can pick a departure date, finally- I'll get back to y'all on that  ;))

That's fantastic Andrea!  I bet things will go relatively smoothly from here.

Sparkle587 - Are you moving to the UK to live permanently?  13 months is a long time for a long distance relationship, you're almost there - 3 more months!

Aless - What kind of restaurant do you work in now/plan to work in over there?

Zeusy - How's Bridezilla doing?    ;)

I've been doing pretty well since Sunday.  I get to go to by neighbor/best friend's baby's baptism this weekend.  That's my next milestone and I'm really excited.  I got her gift today.  It makes me happy to be here for these things, but sad when I think about the fact that I'll be gone before her 1st birthday.

Well, I currently work for Outback Steakhouse, and since they have a store RIGHT NEXT to my uni (Royal Holloway is in Egham, and the store is in Staines, which is literally a short walk away), I'm really hoping I can do a form of transfer.  I don't think they do formal international transfers, but perhaps something can be coordinated between managers so I can start work over there when I move.  I expect it works a little different, but at least I'll already have familiarity with the style of restaurant and majority of the food (there are regional differences).  I haven't initiated anything yet, and was waiting until closer (though my mom keeps saying I need to do stuff now...I figure what do they care about a part-time employee they'll be getting in September NOW?)

I waited tables last time I lived in England.  Never the most glamourous job, but it puts food in my belly (and since hours are limited, it's the most profitable).

EbbFlowEbbFlowEbbFlow - Gosh those waves are really right on top of each other for me right now.  At the moment I'm feeling quite flowy though, so I guess that is good news.  I have passed my 100 day mark.  I now have 97 wakeups left until I leave, 16 until the halfway point, and 14 until our 4 year wedding anniversary.  Other than that I'm looking forward to tomorrow because my dog starts Agility classes.

Aless - Did you get your loan straightened out?

How is everyone else doing?  Are you all hanging in there?

Thanks for asking, Carrie - it's getting there (just waiting on the bank now, but at least all the stuff is in).  And the next fun hurdle I get to tackle is the visa!  Woowoo.

Sorry I have been MIA!

Aless- I used to work in a Fin Aid office so I know what you are going through, well at least a litte about what you are going through.  Keep on them call them everyday if you have to.  You know light the fire under a very sensitive part and see how things start to take care of themselves.

Carrie-  Wooo Hoooo almost there girl.

As for me Bridezilla has gone back to her cave and isn't coming out anytime soon.  Roy and I have been bickering a little bit, but nothing to terrible  mostly because we miss each other so much. But I have been fighting the Ebb and Flow as well mostly I am in the flow to but there are nights when I freak out about my darn car.  I can't get it sold and I have let it go for the minute I am trying the "Let go and Let God" approach cause my approach doesn't seem to be working.  Once that thing sells I am home free.  I can pack up and leave.  My mom and I are having a yard sale in Aug so I am hopeing to make some more loot off of that.

My next milestone is Dillinger's 4th bday (yes my dog's birthday) on July 1st and Roy's Bday is July 9th.
I am also telling my fulltime professional job I am leaving somewhere in between that.  Ahh  scary scary.
