Well, as I get deeper into the student loans process (signing legal contracts and all that) it's starting to hit me that yes, this is actually happening! :o  I just sent off the last of my loan paperwork on Tuesday so it's out of my hands for now- I'm going to follow up on it probably around the start of July.  I should be getting my unconditional offer letter in the mail soon as well as my housing assignment, which I hope comes sooner rather than later because I'll need to know where I'm living (and get move-in dates and all that) before I can book my plane ticket.  By this time next month *crosses fingers* my loans should be through, my plane ticket will have been bought and I should have everything set to apply for the visa...eek!

Missing my boyfriend, though. :( Only 3 months left (it feels like the countdown's been at three months forever though, argh!)

I feel the same way I think our countdown has been at 3 months for the last 7 months.  Ha Ha!  Although when I left in January I was thinking, how in the H*ll am I gonna get through 9 months without him??  But I am doing it and I am drawing a lot of my strength from the wonderful people on this forum.  THANKS EVERYONE!

139 DAYS!

Wooohoooo!  That's another 10 day increment finished.   ;D

100 is within sight.

By the way, DF went back to Leicester for his follow-up appointment.  His heart is absolutely fine, and they still have no idea why it was beating so fast that other day.  Very weird.   At least he's okay now, but we still would like to know what caused it in case it happens again!

By the time my friends get here to visit me next weekend, I'll be down to 128 days.  WOW.  ;D

EBB EBB EBB EBB!!
:\\\'( Df went to the Dr this morning, wasn't the news at all that we wanted to hear, the worst case scenario might be on the way......I hate being so far away. Why oh why is this happening? It isn't like we don't have enough to deal with on top of some health issues for him.  Plus Roy said his Dr was a Jr Doc (I guess fresh out of med school) had forgotten his bed side manner at home and didn't really read his medical notes, Roy had to tell him most of what was in there.  Not a good morning, after Roy told me everything, he said "But don't you worry darling"  YEAH RIGHT! :\\\'(

Aww zeusy...   [smiley=hug.gif] [smiley=hug.gif] [smiley=hug.gif]

I know what you mean, it's absolutely horrible being so far away when something goes wrong.  I also know how hard it is not to worry!

I hope everything ends up okay.

Okay, so I decided I was going crazy without having a countdown of some sort, so I made this ticker (in my sig) to give me something concrete to look forward to :P  I picked September 7th as my "unofficial" departure date- it's very subject to change, but I know I'll be leaving within a week of that date either way, so it'll work for now :)

3 months!  3 months!  That means tomorrow my ticker will say 2 months (!) and some days/weeks.  I'm so excited.

Andrea - Congrats on picking your unofficial departure date - be sure to let us know when you pick your real date.

When my ticker went below 3 months I freaked out a little bit. It felt like it had been 3 months forever, then suddenly it was 2 months and some days/weeks! There's so much to do and time's ticking away!  ;D

I am anxiously awaiting September 15...that is when hubby and I fly to Africa (kenya and tanzania) for a 2 week trip.  The first week will be on a liveaboard scuba dive boat and the other week is a safari.  I have always wanted to go to Africa and we booked this trip last September - so it's felt like a long time before it's really happening.   We get home on Oct 2 and fly out Oct 8 for a week in Russia.  And then we don't have anymore plans for a while!!

Add me to the count down to September list. We are going to Jamaica on 6th and if things go as planned we will be getting married there...  :)

It's a big, fat major EBBBBBBB right now.  My boy was without internet/his own computer from the end of May, and now that he is back home with his family for the summer, he's stuck on the family computer with dial-up.  It's extremely frustrating, because he's not on very often, especially not for chatting.  He just doesn't make the EFFORT, because right now he's rather depressed to be at home at the moment (it's not a pleasant place for him).  I haven't even felt like I've been in a relationship over the past month, because we barely speak, much less like we are boyfriend/girlfriend.  It's extremely disheartening, because I drop big hints that he needs to make more effort and he just DOESN'T GET IT.  I'm just like...how can you feel like you're in a relationship if we're not even speaking???

Candice - congrats on making it another 10 days.  But that whole 12.7 thing, didn't you ever pay attention during the "How many cans of paint will Billy need to buy to paint his bedroom" word problems in math class?  If Billy needed 12.7 cans of paint he'd have to buy 13, but for the purposes of counting down you can't count a 7/10ths of a time so you only have 12 more countdowns!   ;) ;D ;)

pkessler - How exciting about the wedding - I sure hope that things do go as planned.

Aless - I've found that when you are so far apart hints just don't cut it (then again, if you're married to my husband sometimes hints don't cut it even if you're in the same room  ::) ).  Have you tried flat out telling him how you feel?

I'm just hanging out waiting for more milestones - this week is full of them.  Our 4th wedding anniversary is on Wednesday, Friday is the halfway point (81 days in, 81 to go), and this weekend is the 4th (if you're off until Tuesday like me).  Gavin still doesn't have a job, so we still don't have an apartment and I still can't apply for my visa.  But I'm trying to be strong and not give up.  :( He has to get something soon.  I hope he gets something by his birthday in the middle of July.   :-\\\\
