Just an appreciation thread. My dad sent me home with some Chocolate Cherry coffee, which is outrageously expensive, but oh my, is it goooooooooooooooooooooooooood. Drinking it out of my giant coffee bucket now and it's lovely.

Who are Harry & David?   Or is that the name of the coffee?

Harry & David are this gourmet food brand, they have their own shop. I never heard of them before I moved here, but for some reason my folks got turned onto their coffees and some of their sweets. They make these chocolate covered cherries that are very addictive. The only problem is that, being gourmet, they aren't cheap. Sometimes you can find their stuff in Marshalls. I must say, however, while I am not sure I'd willingly pay what they ask for their stuff, it is good. That coffee this morning was devine.

Hhhhmmmmm  I love love love their stuff!  If you are a dark chocolate lover, the dc truffles are absolutely fantastic.  And the Royal Riviera Pears are the best piece of fruit I think I've ever had.  And yes, it is expensive, but a splurge here and there isn't so bad.

I love Harry and David.  I like to give gifts from the catalog.  I agree the pears are the best.
One year we were visiting a brother-in-law who lived in Branson, Missouri.  There was an actual Harry and David store at an outlet mall.  The store was changing the display freezers so they were selling everything half price.  We nabbed several of their cheesecakes for only $8-10 each.  We happened to have a styrofoam cooler with us on the trip so we just filled it with ice and the cheesecakes made it back to Iowa fine.

I used to love those!!

When I worked in the US, we used to get H&D fruit baskets as gifts from clients pretty often. It was like a feeding frenzy when we all descended on the basket!

Outlet malls have become Harry & David's bread and butter - they're everywhere these days.

I'm a new convert to their "Moose Munch" bars, they're delicious and after turning up my nose at their chocs when I first arrived in the US; I now happily pay $2.50 a bar.......I am looking forward to sending some back to the UK to my Dad for Father's Day and I didn't know what to choose, so thanks for the ideas :)

Although I like their fruit, I've never been a fan of their coffee or sweets.  My mother used to get TONS of Harry & David packages for the holidays from her customers.
