.....Well, that crumble-part has enough butter in it to clog the arteries of an elephant if you made it right as per the local tastes.

We have a crumble season when the gooseberries and red and black currents come in. Some market-apples and some of the rhubarb taking over the world down by the stream and we're good for maybe a home-grown crumble a week until the blackberries kick in in September.

Not exactly English, but they do carry it here at Tesco's and it is the best.
Tiramusu family portion for less than 2 quid.
It's just as good if not better than restaurant quality.  :D

Bread & butter pudding!! My absolute fave.

At my work's canteen, they do a bread & butter pudding which also has a ribbon of white chocolate running through it, and a whisky (probably more of a Drambuie) glaze on the top.... then drowned in hot custard.

I think it's GORG!!!   But of course, it's a Scottish pudding, not an 'English' one.  :P

Delia's sticky toffee pudding is sublime.

Am very anti custard though. It is vile.

So...if the London contingent are doing this picnic thing, should I bring apple pie and a thermos of hot custard?  My crumble is better than my pie but it won't quite work cold.  Decisons, decisions....

How sad.. I can't for the life of me think of my favorite! I have never had bread and butter pudding, I don't like custard, I don't mind sponge cake, but I don't really have a favorite. Must work on that  ;D

One thing I found last visit that I really like, was flapjack. I don't know if it's considered pudding really, but I loved that! It has to be the kind that comes in the tin pan though. I tried one that came in bars, similar to granola bars, and was not a fan!

I like some raisins in mine, but just a handful. I was once feeling lazy, so I bought a Tesco's Finest bread & butter pudding. It was lovely except for the fact that they added about 3 cups of raisins!!  :-X

Mmmm... a whisky glaze! That sounds wonderful!!

I make Delia's marmalade bread & butter pudding recipe. It's to die for. You make butter and marmalade sandwiches with the bread first -- then cut them in quarters and layer them in the dish. I also grate some orange zest into the cream.

Damn, now I might have to make that tonight.  :-\\\\
