Meatballs....
« on: May 31, 2006, 12:33:17 PM »
Hey anyone have a tried and true to die for recipe for meatballs?  Care to share? Rough ingredients are okay if you don't have a recipe..... I don't stick to them any ways!

Thanks!

vnp -- I don't know about 'to die for' but last time I made meatballs -- I used Mark Bittman's recipe (spaghetti & meatballs).  They were good & I think you have that cookbook.

Okay!  Sounds good and yes I have the Bitman book... ;D I just saw a recipe in the Waitrose mag and wanted to compare several and make some tonight!

Cheers Saf -you've got quite a few nice recipes up your sleeves!

Are you looking for meatballs for spaghetti or the ones you use as sort of a starter?

If for a starter, i have a good one:
If you want to make your own meatballs have at it, but i buy the frozen ones.
Put them in a crock pot or slow cooker and add
One bottle of barbeque sauce
one cup of brown sugar
one bottle of pinapple ice cream topping if you can find it
stir and let simmer for a few hours

Sounds weird, but it is soooo good, great for summer get togethers as it's so easy
