Holy weather Batman!

It's supposed to be 82F tomorrow in Inverness?!?!?  :o

I mean, I figured it'd be mild and pleasant, but...
guess I'll pack a couple more t-shirts.
Aye it was warm today, well warm for up here :)  at 75f. I'd be surprised if Inverness gets 82 tomorrow as it is get the sea breeze off the Moray Firth the further inland you go the warmer it should get. Clear skies as I write this and getting lighter nights., still quite light at 11pm. Have a good time on your trip up here. Remember rain is never far away I'm afraid :(

So thank you for the report!

Only one smidgen of rain; otherwise mild/sunny/gorgeous clouds...

What a gorgeous country!  ;D

I just missed Speyside area as I met my folks in Inverness and we headed West (they had just gone through that area) and South...
Had a great time and even managed to maintain sanity and self esteem while navigating my dad through the Highlands and asking mom to stop telling us what we're doing wrong ;)
Really fun overall, and I HIGHLY recommend it!

One thing NO ONE WARNED ME ABOUT:

MIDGES

I got midged.
I got midged BAD.
In the middle of the night.
Let's just say... no skirts for me for a while....  ::)

MIDGES

Oh sorry!
It never occurred to me, as i've been in Scotland for 16 years and have never (touch wood) been bitten by a midgie!

I do blame you.
;)

Seriously, consider yourself lucky.  And keep doing whatever you're doing.

Must be a by-product of my offensive personality!
Tastes bad to insects!

(Glad you had a good time!)

Yeah, I'm like sugar to insects it seems.
But it was due to the window not being shut properly, and then the wind ceasing in the middle of the night (so it got very still, and very warm).

Anyhoo.... I'm even more impressed with the beauty, history, PEOPLE, etc. than I even thought I would be, and I knew I would be.

A-ha!  Where we stayed last night (Marriott) before leaving for the airport.
:)
God I love Edinburgh.
(Though I must say, Glasgow isn't nearly as bad as it's been described!)

I completely agree!! In the past 4 years I've spent a lot of time up in Scotland, both Edinburgh and Glasgow and I have to say Glasgow is great!   The people is really what makes it wonderful!  But I also think the shopping is better there!

Sorry to have hijacked this!

Maureen

I am headed to both Edinburgh and Glasgow next month!! I will see the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and some sightseeing. I am excited!! I found a £1 National Express ticket from Glasgow to London. Nine hours on a coach will suck, but lots of countryside to see!!

LOADS of countryside!

My highlights were (along with being mesmerized by the Highlands themselves):  visiting the Glasgoyne Distillery (in Strathblane, where we stayed outside of Glasgow), if you like art: the Burrell Collection and the Hunterian in Glasgow... as I said, I just love being in Edinburgh itself... the tattoo is fantastic, and if you have time, the Fringe is on at the same time, so see if you can catch a show or two.  Though I won't be there this year  :(, what I appreciate about it is the fact that you can duck off of the Royal Mile and suddenly there is NO ONE; so don't feel like you cannot escape the crowds - and the FLYERING! ;)
