My sister's husband's family have gone with names that all begin with "J" for the past 4 generations... In their immediate family alone is

James
Joy
Jim
Joyce
Johnny
John
Janet
JoyAnn
Joel
JR
Janice
Julie

..and then there's my sister who married into the family - Holly.  Come to think of it, I'm surprised she was allowed in even though her name didn't begin with J ;)

Honestly .... when they told us the first time  ...we said ...okay haha.. now what did you really name  her  :-[  my MIL says everyone has done the same ...surely they realize.

I like the name Lily ...BUT not Tiger Lily.  At xmas when I was wrapping the gifts I put Lily on the card...Hubby said I had to put her real name...oh but it hurts to much, LOL.

Well you can tell them there is a restaurant in Islington called Tiger Lil's. Did they name her after it? Or did they name her after Paula Yates/Michael Hutchence poor child Heavenly Hirani Tiger Lily ?

I babysat for an Asher once, but it was a boy.  It's one of the twelve tribes of Israel's names from the Old Testament.

I used to work with a girl called Zippy, which was short for Zipporah, also a bible name.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

I knew a guy who dated a girl named Minty. Not short for anything, that was her full, given name.

MINTY.

someone told me about a girl they knew called Broslin.  Named after after a character in some soap. Their mother had misheard the name Rosalind ...

also did you know Oprah Winfrey was meant to be Ophra but her father spelt it wrong when he registered the birth

I thought she was supposed to be Orpah - - isn't that  biblical name? I had heard that he misspelled her name as well, but thought it was Orpa or Orpah...

That's the name of the actress in CSI Las Vegas who plays Sarah. Though she spells it Jorja.

although we are way off from children, i've wanted to name a child after an area of london.

I was really into Croydon for a while.....but he nixed that. (his last name is pretty terrible too so that would be a double edged sword).

I've got him yielding to Heyden.  Only 3 more years of pushing that name and i'll win!
