Originals of Education Diplomas?

For the VAF2 (spouse) visa, do I send in the originals of my high school and university diplomas or can they just be photocopied?

I don't think I sent any of my documents like that, just dfs certificates and diplomas for my fiance visa.  I did send them a CV which they kept a copy of.  I have them with me now though if they want to see them.  I don't know if it is different for spousal visas or not.

They say to include any educational certificates that would prove that you can gain employment, but I'm not sure if they need the originals of those...I'm sending me CV in too

Anything they ususally ask for they want the originals of.  I might send them in just in case, but I always err on the side of caution.  Ask Victoria or Garry to be sure though.

Yeah I might just send the originals, hopefully I'll get them back though!

Was for fiancee visa not spouse, but I sent originals of my diplomas and they sent them back.  The only things they kept were my CV and his letter.

My CV did just fine... I didn't even bring copies of diplomas, but I am totally sure a normal copy is fine.  Everyone overworks this in their mind and worries needlessly.  You are going to be back in the forum in a couple of weeks saying you can't believe you worried too much about this.

I had all that stuff...in spades. She didn't even ask for it or look at it. Wished I had spent that time going through old emails trying to find more of those. She didn't even ask for or look at my CV...and I have two job interviews the day after I step off the plane. But my new motto after today is over-do...so send originals.

Really not necessary if the maintenance test is met anyway.

It's not being cautious, it is pointless.  If you are adamant you want to send something, send copies, don't risk losing the originals.

I'm not biting your head off, sorry if it seemed that way.

I find it quite amusing when someone comes on asking for advice, gets half a dozen people saying "you don't need to include x", and then the OP turns around and says they will do it anyway!  It makes me think that we are sometimes all wasting our time....

And Princess Juls, I am not specifically getting at you, you are certainly not the worst offender on this!

Good luck.

Vicky
