 HERES MY PROBLEM
we were going through some things. personal stuff and needed some time apart.

would that be okay to say? :P

Absolutely... Couples have personal problems!  It is only human!  You are probablly not going to be asked at all about your departure when coming back in.  It is really an outside chance.  When you apply for your IRL you will likely get asked about it and the best thing to do is be honest at that time.  Trying to get a new Visa while you have a valid one will only a) cost lots of money and b) probablly cause more questions to be asked.

Victoria, what do they do when you apply for an IRL and you don't "qualify", do they give you another FRL for a period?
WARNING My thoughts and comments are entirely my own.  Especially when it comes to immigration and tax advice, I am not a professional.  My advice is to seek out professional advice.  Your mileage may vary!

Most likely. Although if it is a close call I often suggest that both the FLR and the SET forms are sent, with one payment, so they don't end up refusing and taking two lots of cash.
