I made Nanaimo Bars and had DH bring some into work yesterday.  Only 7 or 8 pieces or so, but he said they went over really well.  :)  I sent the rest of the tray in with him today (about 24 pieces) and he announced it on their work chat thingy when he set them in the kitchen...... they were gone in 8 minutes flat.   ;D

Getting involved in my community! I've made a point of getting out there and meeting people over the past several months and it has been so rewarding. I love where I live!  :)

This lovely!

Cycling on a clear-blue skied- crisp- grass frost covered morning.  Feels so Autumnal and lovely and I love cycling (or even walking) when its like that!

Have to go check the garden though if the frost has started.....

I'm from very near your people.  :)  Born and raised between Seattle and Vancouver.... just on the US side, but closer to Van than Seattle.  :)

I guess they're 'Nanaimo Bars' rather than proper Nanaimo Bars   ::)  - I used digestives but DH's coworkers don't know appreciate the difference since I guess most of them had never even heard of Nanaimo Bars until a few days ago.  :P  DH had one on a visit... I made sure he tried a proper Nanaimo Bar and brought some home for his family.  :)

Bellingham?  :) Or.....

Completely alters the taste to me - so not the real deal, for me.   :-X ;) And shop bought is no patch on homemade, as with most things.  :)

But you gotta do what you gotta do.  :)

So yes, let's split the difference and call them 'Nanaimo' Bars!  ;D :P :-*

Finally having a sofa to sit on after living at our new place since the end of July. What we wanted vs. what would fit up the stairs and around the bend, with only 3 feet between the front door and the railing around the top of the stairs proved difficult. We wanted big and plush and comfy, and everything  we wanted seemed to be too big. We didn't want to just settle for anything that fit, so we've been sitting in canvas lawn chairs and searching for a sofa.

Much as we love the deck between us and the building next to us, it does make moving furniture difficult.

“We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
― Dr. Seuss

We sat on the floor for a year when we returned to the UK for the same reason. We also refused guests in that time because we were too embarrassed to let them sit on the floor. I feel your pain and joy.  ;)

Back home and on to baking.  [smiley=chef.gif] And it's also glorious out!  8)

Yup.  :)  I'm a Bellinghamster.  :)

I know they're not the real thing, but they're as close as I'll get here without paying a fortune for graham crackers.  :)  I think next time I'll make them a bit more mutated and try for peanut butter ''Nanaimo'' Bars (we can put a double quote since they're doubly altered).  :)  Eventually, they'll need a new name....   ::)
