Now, if we could just get your five year old to teach my hubby the joy of laundry! 

Spending time in a coffee shop that offers 75 flavors of lattes (in addition to all the other coffees, cappuccinos, etc), then wandering a free art gallery while waiting on a friend who is in an appointment.

Tickets bought today for the Louder Than Life festival! It is the first annual, so we are going to the first ever of its kind. I feel a bit honored. Although it is a two day festival, we're only interested in the first day. Plus we will be jet lagged from flying back to the States the day before.

So excited!

Huge cups of iced tea. With or without sugar doesn't matter to me, I am just happy with tea.

My renewed passport arrived today! With 10 weeks to go until we fly, I wasn't concerned but it is always nice to know things go according to plan.

Finally getting the nightmare with BravoFly sorted, and getting our money back today so we could re-book flights. This time we went straight through Delta and skipped the online travel agencies.

Although some of the shine has been taken from the joy of this trip, I am still looking forward to it and welcome the distraction.

Sending off my Tier 4 today with priority processing. That was my last thing to do for my move on Aug 25. Now I can devote all m attention to the passing the bar exam in 2 weeks!

Another of 'my girls' announced her engagement today. When I managed a Subway from 2006 - 2009, only leaving because of moving to the UK, there were four of the teenage girls I bonded with. They were great workers, sweet kids, and became nieces of the heart. One recently got married, two are now engaged and the fourth is still waiting for the right one, but comfortable enough in her own right that she isn't rushing it.

I finished the bar exam today!!! And the big move across the pond is just over 3 weeks away. AND I got an email from Upakweship giving a timeline for my things to arrive in Cardiff. So glad I can just focus on packing and getting there now.

With a third child on the way and a greyhound, the car requirements have changed.  So my Happiness is Test driving a Subaru Tribeca.  Still handles like a car, not much bigger than an Outback, but has 7 seats, leather, sunroof etc etc. If we buy this we will be taking it with us... Heaven.

Finding out there is a wildlife rehabilitator in the county. I've been worried about a poor little goose with a hurt foot. Silly thing seemed to have forgotten he (she?) could fly back to the lake, and although it was only about 50 yards to the lake, he didn't seem to want to head there. I called the local shelter, who gave me his number. He came out yesterday afternoon, checked the goose over and felt that it would heal, but needed to be on the lake instead of trying to walk around. He very patiently herded the goose over there.

I didn't want it so far away from water, where it couldn't drink. There are plenty of bugs for it to munch, with it being summer, but it didn't have access to water on the neighbors' lawn.

Mom gets to come birdsit Joey while we are away! She'd started a new job, caring for an elderly couple, but their daughter adores her as much as they do, so she is willing to hold her position and get temporary help for the time she is away.

She is looking forward to two and a bit weeks of mostly peace and quiet. She said between work and people around all the time, she hasn't had a chance to properly be alone for some much needed thinking.

One of my nieces (21) is living with her, so she will be home to see to her bird, Moe, or she can bring him up here.

Surviving my first week in my new job! I'm still a bit nervous, but it's been great how lovely everyone is.
