UK wedding dress sizes
« on: July 01, 2006, 11:18:44 AM »
I was trying to fill out a form where it asks for my dress size (UK).  I'm not a huge dress person--the only dress I've ever bought (or even tried-on) in the UK is my bridal gown.  That was a 12, but it had to be taken-in at the waist.  So I have no idea what size I am.  I was under the impression, from where I am not sure, that bridal sizes are different than regular dress sizes.

So my question is:  Is a "bridal size 12" the same as a "regular dress size 12"?  Thanks!   :)

I doubt they are the same, as they are different in the states.  I believe in general dress sizes in the UK are two sizes up from US (so if you wore a US 8 it's a UK 12) so if you know your US dress size that may help.

I'm really curious what kind of form it was - was it for a work uniform or something?

Unfortunately, I don't know my US dress size.  That would make things too easy.

I decided to go out to a shop yesterday, I got measured, and then I used a dress size chart, so I'm all good now.   ;D
