How far is Southampton to Camberley?
« on: July 06, 2006, 06:07:00 PM »
Realistically - Can I commute?
I've text'd BF and he said "nearish".  WTF does that mean!?!  I asked him to be more specific, but he can't call me because he's away right now and can't talk.

There is an opening in the Camberley office of my company and before I pressure HR for a transfer I'd like to know I can easily get there from Southampton.  I've looked on maps, but knowing how traffic can be a nightmare, I'm not sure.

Any guidance is GREATLY appreciated!

I just asked my boyfriend and he said about half hour maybe less but it depends on where you were in Southampton and where in Camberley you're going to. He seemed to think it was very commutable. Probably also depends on what type of transportation you'll be using. You can also check the National Rail site. It tells you if there are trains going to and from and how long a trek it is.

THANK YOU! ;D

I will be looking into the rail system.  I'll be living close to the rail station in Southampton and that will be my preferred mode of transport...driving, I'm not too sure about that yet...need to learn manual.   ::)

It's about 50 miles with a near-direct route on the M3 motorway (expressway).  The rail line appears to follow almost the same route. via Winchester and Basingstoke.
