passport name change?
« on: July 06, 2006, 06:14:50 PM »
I have searched and cant find a thread here, if there is one, plz help me find it,
but, how do i go about having my name changed to my married name in my passport?
I remember something about going to london, but that is the extent of my knowledge?
How much does it cost, what do I need, can I do it via post or do I need to do it in person, how long does it take to process?
thanks!!!

There are many many many discussion on this subject, the most recent:

Also, what citizenship are you trying to change and it appears that you are currently in the UK as well.  Don't want to send you to the US Embassy to change a British Passport, now do we?

Hi Joni, this link should help:  http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/acs/passports/amendindex.html.  I applied for a new passport in my married name in February.  I got it back in a little over a week, I believe.  I can't find the thread now, but I definitely posted it somewhere.  What about your visa?
