Emails & Interviews
« on: July 07, 2006, 02:41:22 AM »
So, I was just curious (mostly because waiting to find out if I got my fiance visa is driving completely insane) how many of you who applied online first and then sent in your suppoting documents:

  A) Got an email telling you your documets had been received.  The website says I'll get one, but I know my documents were delivered last Friday and still no email.  Wondered if everyone really got them.

  B)  Had to do a phone interview.  I have read that a couple of people had to.  Was wondering how many have to and how it went.

  C)  If anyone who applied for a fiance visa did not send in bank documents or paystubs and how that went?  I was told I didn't need to (by the visa hotline people) since my fiance had a statement from his work and he makes enough money to support both of us.  Did anyone else not send in these bank documents and do fine?

Thanks in advance.  Oh, and maybe I should throw in HOW ON EARTH DID YOU STAY SANE WHILE WAITING?????  lol

I sent my application to LA, and never got an email saying they'd received it. (Can't answer any of the other questions though.)

How'd I get through it? Distractions galore!

and lots of ice cream. ;)

Yeah, I sent mine to LA, too.

LOL  I've also been doing the icecream thing!  Only problem is it means more trips to the gym.  So, I guess that gives me another distraction.

I went through NYC --no email....had to do phone interview (was completely panicked because I hadn't heard of anyone else having to do one!) It was easy! I also didn't send any bank statements --only a letter from my then fiancee's employer and one from mine in the states to show I was employable.

Good Luck

I forgot - there's also the distraction of whinging to friends. Until they get sick of you and tell you to stop being silly and you WILL get the visa. Hee.

I sent mine to NYC and I sent in bank documents from my fiance. I got an email after about 5 business days telling me they got my documents and then after another 5 days I got an email saying I got my visa. I didn't have to do a phone interview. I didint keep from going crazy. I just worried and worried all day long until I got it, but I wish I would have thought of  the icecream thing too :P

Good luck! ;D

Thanks everyone!  I feel a little better.  I guess.  What it sounds like it boils down to is really the whim of whoever is reviewing my application.  OK, time for icecream.... LOL
