Wow.  Very underwhelmed with Brazil tonight.  What has happened to Ronaldo?  He was hopeless.  An embarassment.  Croatia did very well and they remain my tip for second in the group.

I was quite pleased that Croatia held their own - especially since it was getting on my t**s that the commentators wouldn't stop going on and on and on and on about how fabulous and exciting Brazil are. DH suggested they might want to... actually, nevermind, this is a family website.  ;)

I don't think so.  He was shite for Real Madrid against Arsenal earlier this season.  I think he is just past it, and Robinhio should start instead of him.

*sob*  I'm devestated, I drew the Ukraine in the sweepstake at work and they have just been killed by the Spanish.. worst £1 I have ever spent!  The girl I sit next to got Brazil then looked at me and went "are they good?"  So frustrating!!!

Yeah -- me too!  I was all excited to see them play, and by the end of the game I was  [smiley=sleeping2.gif] on the sofa.

...how fabulous and exciting Brazil are.

Brasil IS fabulous and exciting!  Too bad their soccer team wasn't last night. :P

In his office pool draw, DH drew Japan as his team!  LOL  He said that he might win a prize for the most goals given up. :)

Brazil had an off day, but it's been a long season for the players, i expect the samba stars to come good as the tourney prgresses. They have too much talent. Ronaldo's never been the same since his knee injury whilst playting in Serie A. But dont write him off, we all saw what he did 2002. So far Argentina, Italy and Spain have impressed me. Still fully expect Brazil to get to the final at the very least. Hope Micheal Owen gets a goal tomorrow, also wish luck to Chris Birchall (Port Vale and T&T)

Argentina impressed?  No way!  They were lucky to beat Ivory Coast, and certainly aren't as good as they have been in previous tournaments.  The team is very inexperienced, and obvously haven't settled yet.

Spain were certainly better then people expected them to be.

Italy didn't impress me at all either.

All of the mentioned teams have points in the bag and have created a quite few chances, i wouldn't say Argentina were lucky they played a team whose players play in all the top leagues in Europe, it was more like Champions League match, i'd say Ivory Coast were unlucky, all in all they won the game. As the finlas progress, defences wil get better. Only teams that have been poor are England and France, but at this stage all that counts is to qualify for the next round, the serious business doesn't start til the knockout stages.

Spain look like well oiled team, a mix of youth and experience.

England's game today may resemble a FA Cup tie, England with Premiership stars, whilst T&T have quite a few players in the Championship and League one.

My husband said he didn't think Brazil was really trying that hard.  Maybe saving up their energy(?)...I don't know...  Either that, or DH was taking the p*ss...hard to say really. :)

Of course!  The title is more than enough warning for those that have taped the game.   :)
