that's all i was wondering, i live in amall town here and the pubs seemed to be deserted.  i was just looking for some other views.  thanks

If that is all you were wondering you should take a look at your first couple of posts because they come across as a bit confrontational (IMO) :o)

Not sure if we wouldn't of done better with Barnet representing England in the world cup and not the ones that went :)  (Though maybe Barnet and joe cole, owen hargreaves, rio ferdinand and john terry and though I hate to say it prob Peter Crouch :) )

You know, that's not a bad idea!

There is actually a 'National England Team' which is made up of non-league players, and they compete against non-league teams from around the world...England are currently European champions at this level, and I think they would have a thing or two to teach the 'senior' squad!

If anyone else fancies a trip to Barnet this season, please PM me!

I'm a huge fan of non-professional football!!  providing it is good sportsmanship..  How does Barnet rate on that stage?  We go to Leicester City games all the time.  It's great.

I think the reason it seemed that everyone lost interest was because after England lost, there just weren't very many games.  Even in my house, where at the beginning, it was football 24/7, after England was out, there was only a game every few nights.

Leicester are a bit higher level than the Mighty Mighty Barnet Bees, though both teams are professional...not that you'd notice sometimes!  :D

Sportmanship...well...it's a man's game, there's the odd hard tackle of course, and I seem to remember that Barnet came bottom of the League Two 'Fair Play' league last season...but it's all friendly really, there's no diving and cheating, it's just proper football with real fans.

If you are really desperate for your fix, Newcastle United play their opening Intertoto Cup game on Saturday, though I can't find if it is on the TV or not yet.

Oh, have fun Kyperama!  I love live games.  There is nothing like it.  It was always a dream of mine to see a premiership game in Europe so the first time we came to England, we booked tickets.  it was awesome.  And when we have people come, we take them to a game.

I am worried now.

You do know that Barnet almost got relegated back to the Conference (non-league) last year, and that Underhill is generally considered to be the worst ground out of all the 92 league teams, and that you'll be standing for the whole of the game, and probably a little crushed and....

...will be in the midst of an amazing atmosphere, and see the bottom club in the league take on one of the top clubs in the league, and likely you'll see Theo Walcott's first outing for Arsenal, and possibly Thomas Radsinsky as well, and that there will be singing for most of the 90 minutes, and a few Arsenal stars will come and play....

yeah, okay, it might be quite fun I suppose!

Erm, crushed?
What, like a rock concert?
Oh well... I'll be head and shoulders above most anyway.
No worries, I'm there for the experience, regardless!  If it's too much, I can wimp out at the half!

I'm taking my camera - and promise not to be a dorky Yank and embarrass Vicky who will be there to guide me with the protocol of a spectator ;)

Not quite like a rock concert...well, unless the Bees get three past Arsenal in the first half...  ;D

I'm chuffed to hear you've caught the bug!

I was taken to a Rangers match my first week in Glasgow, and that was me hooked!  ;D

I only cared b/c I had placed a bet on Italy's win - and it meant the Le Creuset pan of my dreams if they won.

I am now the proud owner of said Le Creuset.   ;D
