Tour De France
« on: July 13, 2006, 05:48:27 PM »
Anyone paying attention?

I have to say i have a particular interest as 75% of my job is realted to the professional cycling team we sponsor.

And, ahem, our leader has the yellow jersey after stage 11.  Let's hope he holds onto it

GO FLOYD LANDIS!  :)

Yeah I agree - go Floyd!  One of my coworkers is a former European champion duathlete (running and biking) and he told me about Floyd yesterday.  I spent a bit of time checking out his story online and it is pretty fascinating.  I do hope he does well!

Vicky - Floyd is definitely not on drugs - former Mennonite who refuses pain medication...

Viks, some are definately but they taint the sport.  Geetak is right, i'm not sure how floyd will make the hip replacement he has to have !

It is cool as i get to hang wtih these guys a bit and when my phone rings and it's him, i feel important.  just for one lil second.    ;)

Now I have reason to follow the tour this year.  Floyd Landis used to (maybe still does) frequent our favourite Peets coffee shop in San Diego.  We used to see him there all the time.  He got DH's stamp of approval too - high praise coming from him.

I agree.  GO FLOYD!!  bring back integrity to cycling!

depends.....if he keeps it up and really knocks it out at the time trials, you really never know.

i don't see him winning it all.

but he could make top 3.
