I think he's too far behind now.  It looks like he bonked due to tired legs and lack of food - sounds to me like his team broke down on the job..  But nice to see he's making a good recovery.  He just needs to get through that last 10km!

On L'alpe d'huez on Tuesday this was reported.  http://www.letour.fr/2006/TDF/LIVE/us/1700/index.html

15:58 - Yellow Jersey For A Six-Pack Of Beer...

After Floyd Landis regained the lead of the Tour de France at the top of L’Alpe d’Huez he decided that he wanted a beer to celebrate the moment. On the road down to his hotel, his team car pulled over and the American traded a yellow jersey for a six-pack of beer with a spectator.

Have a GREAT time!!!  It will be amazing!

DH was practically wetting himself at watching the stage.  He said it was the most amazing climb and descent he's ever seen.

DAMN!  It's the first year I've not watched the Tour and I'm so wishing I could!  Guess I'll have to settle for downloading video of today's stage. :(

I was late to work this morning because I couldn't pull myself away from the TV.  It was SO exciting to watch him just hammer up those climbs and catch everyone!  I can't wait to watch the recap tonight.

I was so sad yesterday when I read a commentator say that he should pack his bags and go home because he'd never make up that time.  I'm SO happy he proved everyone wrong!

This is a stupid question.  Is it only men that take part in the Tour de France?  The reason I ask is due to some adverts here in the States about which man will take Lance Armstrongs "place".  I've never really seen the competition, and don't know much about it so I was wondering.

There is a Tour de france femenine.  It runs roughly the same course.  Jeannie Longo was a long time winner and is the most famous of all women riders.  Women's cycling is almost as big as the men's but the purse is smaller.

Yay Floyd!!  He's done it!  Amazing victory for an amazing athlete!  I wish I had that kind of mental willpower and positive attitude!

Coverage started at 7:30am in the US and I watched every bit!  I love that an American won...again!  So happy for Floyd!  Only hope his surgery goes well and he'll be able to defend his title next year.

The Prologue to the Tour in 2007 will be in London...that should be really great to see!

Congratulations Amiloo!!!

It was the most amazing tour since 1990.  Well done Floyd and Phonak!!

Enjoy that jersey - 1500 is a pittance for it..
