I did a lot of our planning when I was back in the US for visits but for some stuff like the photographer, I just found someone on the internet. I really liked his portfolio so I asked my mom to call him and meet up to him just to make sure he was a decent guy and she said that he was so we hired him and I haven't even met him yet lol. But I've seen his work so I trust that and I trust my mom's judgements on his character so it should be okay.

I'm not a big wedding person either so we've kept it simple which made it much easier from afar. I let my maid of honor do a lot of stuff like pick out her own dress. And I came back to the states 2 months before the wedding to finalize everything and do the details like fitting my dress.

But I still have to wait and see how well it all worked out in the end lol. Still, I'm not the type of person to freak out over anything that goes wrong during the wedding, I'm more excited about being married then having a wedding.

Good luck and congrats!

I'm doing some of the same - letting my bridesmaids pick out their own outfits, picked a photographer off the internet (cool work) and getting some help from family.  I'll go back for Xmas to do a few things....but like you - I care more about the marriage than the party (though I want to have fun with that too!).

I planned my entire wedding from Italy.  We had to decide what vendors we wanted to go with online and via phone then made a trip to the US to meet them, sign contracts, etc.  It wasn't too planning from so far away and we were lucky to have hired amazing people for every aspect of the wedding (except the DJ  ::) ) and it went off without a hitch.
