Coffee creamer
« on: August 05, 2006, 11:35:42 AM »
I am so missing my flavored Nestle Coffee-Mate liquid creamers, such as Hazelnut, Vanilla Caramel, Gingerbread.  Has anyone ever seen these products offered in the UK?  Also, is there a UK equivalent of Half N Half?

Sainsbury's and Tesco both sell a low fat pouring cream which is a good subsitute for half-n-half.  Waitrose sells a half-n-half, but it's fat content is is about 4% higher.  All three work rather well.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

I'm with you, Smootie!  I've been looking for the same thing with no luck.  Can't even get flavored coffee like they sell at Dunkin Donuts, and other shops at home.  Think the only option is to order it on line (the coffee I mean).  :(

you can use the stuff that Cait recommends above, and add the Lyle's flavoured coffee syrups to it?

My husband and I are both addicted to flavoured coffee after being spoiled on it in the US. I used to bring back so much in my suitcase on visits I was worried they'd think I was trying to smuggle something in all the grounds. ;)

Julian Graves stores sell Boaters brand flavoured coffee but in small packages. There is also a tea store names Whittards of Chelsea and we can find a very nice selection of flavoured coffee there. It's pricey, but the quality is very nice and it's worth it imo.

Boaters actually does the flavoured coffees for Whittard because the coffee base they use it a preminum quality coffee direct from the farmer and not a mixed base of different coffees. Also they use the Arabica bean compared to the cheaper, not-as-good bean Robusta.   You might pay a little more at Whittards but that is because they are ensuring that they pay a premimun price to the farmer who they buy it from.  Whittards also stocks the flavoured syrups as well as instant hot and cold cappucciono mixes.  Those aren't too bad considering I HATE coffee.

But as for the flavoured coffee creamer I haven't actually seen that here either.

I got on Nestle's UK website and made a request that they carry some of the flavors (flavours) over here.  Maybe if other people do it to, they'll think there's a demand....

Was just at Sainsbury's and saw Mocha flavoured Coffeemate. I know it's not the liquid stuff but thought I would mention it!

I was hooked on Fat Free Vanilla, the refrigerated one... Tried using whole milk when I got here...that worked OK.  I recently gave up cream all together and now drink my Trader Joe's Dark French Roast with just sugar!   :o
