Frrrozen Hot Chocolate on Oprah today...
« on: August 10, 2006, 04:12:40 PM »
Did anyone see it?  I'm tempted to make this soon as it sounds SO FAB! It's from a restaurant in NY called Serendipity 3.  Check out the recipe on:   http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/food/recipes/food_20041028_frrrozen.jhtml

Cool, I've had it lots of times through the years, it's yummy!  Will be cool to make.  If you can make it to Serendipity it's well worth it ;D

Whittards has a nice Iced Chocolate receipe as well.  It's not too bad actually..

Add 3 tsp hot chocolate powder in a small cup.
Add a touch of hot water and mix into paste
Pour into blender with 3-4 ice cubes.
Add 2 small cups of cold milk  (not sure why they say small.  I thought a cup was a cup!)
1  tsp of sugar if desired
blend until ice is crushed. Serve in a latte glass with long spoon

Option: top with whipped cream and sprinkles

I never actually thought of doing this with hot chocolate but like I said, it's not too bad!

I've got a packet of the mix from Serendipity - bought it when we went to NYC for my 30th birthday and I dragged my family there because of the John Cusack film.

Sorry!

I've got a packet of the mix from Serendipity - bought it when we went to NYC for my 30th birthday and I dragged my family there because of the John Cusack film.

That DARN film!  That's why you can't get into that place anymore!  Although I did think the movie was cute.

How was the mix?  The last time I was in there I was wondering if it was any good.  I'll be in NYC on Sunday and if I'm not too tired, maybe I can get over there to pick some up.  If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to send over.

Well since I just turned 34 in May, It's been a while since I tried the other packet of mix (a couple months after we got it).  I seem to recall it being tasty but semi-complicated to make.
