Chili's restaurant in Cambridge
« on: August 14, 2006, 10:24:25 AM »
For those of you that are missing a piece of america or just need a good chips and salsa fix and marquerita, there are 4 Chili's in England.  We visited the one in Cambridge yesterday and it was just like the ones in America.  The prices are in pounds what they would be in dollars in the US.  But the quality was very good and we got our mexican food fix.  The fajitas and quesadilla's were soooo good.   Even had iced tea!!
The address for the one in Cambridge is: 164 East Road  CB1 1DB and phone is 01223 505678.  The other 3 are located in Reading, LOndon and Basildon.

Oh that is exciting....for me at least.  I love Chili's.  The closest location to me would be London which is about 3 hours away, but worth the trip to squash any home sickness that might come up.....eventually lol.  Thanks for the post!

We live near Canary Wharf and have been to that Chilli's several times recently. It is just like home.  ;D  I do think its a bit more expensive (over ten pounds for chicken crispers!) but what isn't in London. Our Australian friends are hooked now too!

Mmmmmm... Chili's... I will have to check that out.  TGI Friday's doesn't cut it for that American fix.

Just joining this post...we live in Basildon where there is a Chili's in Festival Leisure Park.  My hubby and I used to eat at Chili's about once a month in Denver.  We sadly miss the philly cheesesteak sandwiches, but love the menu when we are missing american food!

We don't have a Chili's in Coventry but we have a TGI FRIDAY'S which is the same as the US and I know there's an Outback Steakhouse in Brum also which I've never been to.

LoL When I last went to visit DB his parents wanted to take us out to dinner on my last night and they brought us to Chili's. Now, I appreciate it but I try to stay away from American foods when over there and his mum realized mid-meal that they had taken me to an American restaurant and apologized, saying that next time they would bring me to a pub or something!

We actually have an Outback, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, and TGI Friday's in Basildon...not to mention McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, and Subway.  I know there is a TGIF's in Leicester Square too!  Those sit-down restaurants are always busy.  Guess the English like our American food.

We try not to go there too often but ocassionally get that craving.  We always joke that we can take our families there when they come to visit.

We have been to the one in Canaray Wharf several times and we love it!  It's about an hour on the tube from here but we happily do it because the steaks are so good.  Yummy.

Meh.  I never cared for Outback.  Now if we had an Applebee's in the W Midlands...

We *almost* went to the Chilis in Reading a few weeks ago.  I couldn't believe it when I saw that the Chicken Crispers were £11 and burgers were about the same. We'll be back in the states in 3 months, so I can wait.  We went for Wagamamas instead... Mmmmm...

Holy-moly!  Macaroni Grill!!!!  What?!  I must visit!!

There's several Outback Steakhouses across southern England.  I should know - I used to work in one (in the USA AND the UK!).  They're not absolutely identical, but damn near similar.
