Looking for nice area near Birmingham
« on: August 16, 2006, 10:15:27 PM »
Hi all

We are looking to buy a house next year near to the  Birmingham Metro.  I prefer a cheap area with nice large house.
I do travel 100% so I don't care to be near to work .

Does any body recommend area not too expensive, I am consider living in nice country side too like very small village
or town.

Thanks

PS : what do you think about the wales too ?

We love the Bournville Village Trust area, but I don't think houses here are "cheap".

Im not sure there is anything really "cheap" anywhere at the moment. We bought our house in Coventry 6 years ago for a song but since it has more than doubled in value. Good luck with your search!

HI all
I heard that in USA the houses are comming down or not moving up.  In Atlanta Metro, My old neighbours are reducing the price now. In reston VA, Condo was sold with less than 300K before the last one before it was sold for 326K.

I may have to rent for a year or two to see UK market..

Not where I am...
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Not where I am either. The house prices are ridiculous!

We live in Staffordshire which is (I think) 30 miles or so north of Birmingham.

I know Cannock is on the south side of Staffordshire and it's really pretty around there.  We live in north Staffs.

Just in researching this area before I moved, an "average" 3 bed, 1 bath semi detached runs around £125,000 - £140,000.

Good luck!
