Hey!  Best of luck with your wedding...can you believe it's this weekend?!!!

For my wedding, I had table assignment but not seat assigment.  People were sitting in pre-designated tables but were free to choose a seat on the table, next to whoever they wanted.  I think that is a good compromise.

We had assigned seating at our top table and the table where Alex's grandparents sat.  We had a big sign at the entrance welcoming the guests and basically saying for them to seat themselves.  Seemed to work out ok for the most part.  SIL agonized over the seating plan for her wedding the other week.  Frankly I don't think it was worth the stress!

One of the first things I said after we decided to get married was- no seating charts! No need for the added stress and the awkward situations that may come from it. But I'm also not having a sit down dinner- I'm gonna have a buffet style dinner while dancing and mingling will be going on at the same time as well, so not everyone will be sitting down all at the same time anyway.

no matter what you do  someone will get offended  and say  something snarky either to you or  someone close to you..   try not to stress it..
