But why shouldn't you use NHS if you are paying for it?  I feel like I've paid plenty into this system and I better get something out of it for my money!

I got over the "I am paying for it so I must use it" feeling a long time ago.  I chalk it up to participating in a society.  I feel lucky that I am in "privilaged" situations where I am receipt of things that are more then the average bloke, so if I am lucky enough to afford, or have an empoyer willing to pay for, private heathcare, I am going to take advantage of that.

There are a lot of other people out there besides me that can benefit from my taxes, and rightfully so, that is the whole purpose of modern day tax systems, to iron out some of the inequalities and make sure everyone has certain benefits.
