Co-Sponsor letter/evidence for fiancee visa
« on: September 11, 2006, 03:18:41 PM »
Just wanted to check that my parents have included all they need to include for co-sponsoring the fiancee visa. They've written a letter detailing their willingness to help with money and accomadation, backed with payslips/bank statements. Do they have to include a certain amount of payslips and bank statements? Also, do they want any details about my parents house?

They're actually only offering their help as back up, as I can support Elise myself, but thought it was best to show we have all bases covered. Is there anything we're missing?

I'm also sending letters from my register office and a few wedding venues regarding our plans to marry, I'm hoping these will show we're serious and genuine. Anything else I can do to help with that issue?

Evidence from your parents should really be three months of bank statements and pay slips, and evidence they own the house, such as a copy of the mortgage agreement.

You don't really need to prove that you will get married, so the docs you have there are more than enough.

I thought that copies of banks statements with a cosponsor letter were enough.  I'm assuming the mortgage agreement is more for those who are going to be living with someone else, but I don't need to go back and get payslips from them too do I?  My parents already scrambled a bit to get me bank statements.  I'm also sending my FIL's bank statements and a letter, just in case.  He's retired and wouldn't have pay slips.

I have evidence of my own ability to have income, but since I'm still waiting on my licensure to transfer I can't show actual UK income yet--and DF's a student w/o much income this year.  I've got emails from my future part-time employer saying she is going to hire me (but not able to say how much pay yet), my own bank statments showing good income, a benefits statement showing my income of 40-50K US$ per year for the last 5.5 years, I may have something from the licensing regulators for my fields by application time.  I'm also working on getting a statement of my pension balance, but I'm having a hard time getting anything but a projection of what I will have monthly at 65 until I actually quit my job, which happens after the visa app.  Surely all this plus two cosponsor letters and copies of three months worth of banks statements for me, DF, and both of my cosponsors is sufficient to show we'll be okay?

You do have to supply some sort of evidence that you have accomidation in the UK and that you are authorized to live there.  If it is let, then a letter from the landlord is enough, if it is mortgaged, generally the person who holds the mortgage had to provide proof that the property is mortgaged so prove they can give permission for you to live there.

Also without the payslips, they may question if the parents can really earmark the money for support.

The process is somewhat subjective, but if you look at it from the ECOs point of view, they want to make sure a) you legally have some place to live and b) you can live in the UK without government support.  They want and often require more then just someones word that it will be ok.

The mortgage details from your parents are ony needed if you will living with them.

As for payslips...well, maybe the bank statements would be enough, maybe they wouldn't.  Depends on the ECO really.  Who can tell?

thanks all.  That's what I was trying to say--I wasn't worrried about the mortgage papers seeing as I won't be living with them.  I'll see what I can do on the payslips, but I'm not sure he gets any since it is his own business.  If there is a concern, I may just have him explain that in his letter.

If self employed then personal and company bank statements, and tax returns if possible.
