Travel Insurance
« on: September 23, 2006, 09:44:27 PM »
i have a few trips coming up within the next couple months and it was suggested to me that i look into getting travel insurance.  i did a search on uky and found nothing (or maybe the search isn't working properly) and went back through the Travel & Transport posts to the beginning of june and found nothing.  sssoooo.....

i'm rubbish at picking things out when there are endless possibilities, hence why i need some assistance from you guys.  i've only looked on a few websites and got prices for annual cover (i thought this would be more cost effective than buying for a series of single trips) which seem reasonable, but i'm not quite sure what i "need".  i've read the terms and conditions on two different websites (yes...the ENTIRE thing....it's important for me to know what's in the small print!) and they seem to be reasonable, or at least i couldn't find any red flags in them.

anyone have any suggestions?  or companies to stay away from?

moneysupermarket.com is always a good starting point.  you can choose travel insurance:  single or multi-trip (annual) and it will find the bargains.  It will list all coverages and excesses and should state whether there are any exclusions.  they may ask if you want Worldwide including USA which may or may not cost more.

I'm not sure which companies are "good" as we get it through our bank account as a freebie but I know the supermarkets provide cover if that's any consolation.  There should be some reasonably well known insurance providers as well.  If nothing else it will give you a good idea of what companies are charging if you decide to look around elsewhere.
And the world first spoke to me in Sensurround
