Brand new Mexican online grocer!!
« on: October 02, 2006, 05:22:22 PM »
Just launched yesterday!

http://www.mexgrocer.co.uk/home.php
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

2.8kg of tomatillos would last a long while...there's nothing better than always having them available in your fridge. We also have 500g bags of fresh tomatillos...These are really hard to find in the UK.

We're open to any kind of feedback you have and we're talking with lots of suppliers at the moment to bring new products on board.

Let us know if there is anything that you would like to see and we'll scour Europe for you to bring it to the UK.

If any of you have any questions, email us at info@mexgrocer.co.uk and help us to spread the word about our new business by telling your friends.

See you soon

I'd buy Herdez Salsa Casera if they carried it.  :D

Wheeeeeeeeeee!

So should we email them or put it here?

Whole Chilis so when Poblanos are out of season we can still have rajas con crema...

Goya products and of course the most wonderful thing in the world would be soft fluffy corn tortillas... with no flour.. but that is asking too much I think.

I emailed them with my request and got an email back suggesting another brand.  ;D Fair enough I suppose as at least they have HEARD of the one I wanted and perhaps may get it one day.

I would, actually!  I use them to makes sauces and salsa.  You freeze it for later and it makes meals really quick.  But, I grew up on Mexican food and adore it!  Gotta have my spicy stuff!

Oh, man, I am drooling already.  Can't wait till the student loans arrive so I can order some nopalitos!

My fiancé thinks I'm nuts, but the last time I went home I came back with a big bag of dried chiles of various kinds, three kinds of hot sauce (my favorite is búfalo chipotle sauce), and a can of chipotles in adobo sauce.  What I really miss is green chile, proper Hatch, New Mexico style.  I've tried making an approximation, using indian-style chiles, but it didn't really come out "chile" enough, just too "porky".  They have a chile that's a lot like a Hatch chile in Spain--next time I'm there, I'm going to try cooking some!
