What are wholegrain soldiers?

Our youngest asked for soldiers one morning-but I had already cut it into squares.  So I cut the squares in half and presto-little squat soldiers (as she calls them).
Now when she wants toast in the morning she gets upset if they aren't little squat soldiers.

This is one of my favourite "comfort" breakfasts...nice and simple and nutritious...though I'll admit I'm partial to plain white soldiers.  I'm suprised so few Americans seem to like it.  I guess it's the runny eggs.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've never been a fan of runny eggs.  Even now if I have eggs they have to be scrambled dry or I won't go near them.

For a comfort food breakfast, I much prefer French toast with raspberry jam!

Oooo, that's my hubby's fav, too.  I found a recipe recently for French Toast with Kahlua and Irish Cream that looks unbelievable.
