Spousal walk in at NYC

Does my husband have to be with me when i apply for the Spousal Visa in New York?

We're getting married in August (yay!) and he'll have to return back to the UK for work....we figure i'd wait for the few weeks to get the marriage cert then go to NYC.

He does'nt need to be with you but you will need a letter from him stating that he's aware of your application and supports it.
