Spousal visa denied?
« on: February 05, 2004, 08:33:49 PM »
Has anyone gotten their spousal visa denied?  I'm a terrible worrier, and am afraid I'll get turned down for it after being married, etc.  Just wondering what my odds are... ;D  Seems to be that everyone here has gotten their happy ending...but was just curious to see if that was truly the case.

I don't come here that often, but do frequent another forum for American expats in the UK. I've been a member for a couple of years and not yet heard of anyone being turned down. The financial aspect is important but even if they think you don't have enough £s they will just suggest you get a co-sponsor rather than deny you flat out.
Try not to worry! I know it's natural to do so--we did, you can't help it. But chances are you'll be fine!  :)

Krissy...a really good question, actually!
I know we all have put so much effort and time and thinking and worrying into this whole process...and yet I can't think of a soul that I have heard who's been denied either the spousal or the fiance visas! We've had some sent back, but they were trying to come under the wrong visa (or what was perceived as the wrong one). So, they got their stuff in order and tried again for the right visa...and got through.

Nope, me neither!  Everyone I know has been approved.  But they sure don't publish *those* statistics on the Home Office website!
