Shipping overseas
« on: October 20, 2006, 02:02:53 PM »
Some of these threads look like overseas shipping is a nightmare! The company I chose to move my belongings gave two quotes. One is if I pack up, and the other if they do. I've been busy packing everything but my clothes I'll need 'til the ship comes in. I have a lot of collectibles and four guitars. Everything is packed in boxes and ready to go except the guitars. I would be devestated if anything irreplacable was damaged or stolen. Is shipping overseas always a nightmare? Is there something more I can do?  I only have 'til the 30th until they come to get my belongings! I'm a bit jittery now! They're coming on the 30th and I'm on the plane the 1st of November.

It definitely doesn't have to be a nightmare!! But if you have anything very valuable, you should make sure you have it insured. Also, take pictures of things so that if there is damage, you'll have proof.
