Living in the Somerset region apples and cider are a-plenty. However, it's usually alcoholic cider. I have noticed a local person privately advertising "pressed apple juice" and I'm guessing this may be the closest thing(?)

You are not going to find exactly the same thing... but pressed apple juice is pretty close.. heat it up, chuck in some cinnamon and it's pretty close.  Even gets that sedimentation on the bottom like apple cider. That thread pretty much says it all.

You may have to try a few different types in order to find the flavour you like best.  I'd try some local English apples to get something closer to the flavor of Appalachian mountain apple cider.

There are many, many types and blends of pressed apple juice -try your local farmers market or farm for the best.

That stuff is the business!

My folks keep a supply on hand in their spare fridge in the garage, b/c they have guests dropping by and do a lot of entertaining.

Mmmmm.

Nothing better than, 'C'mon in!  Sit down!  What can I get ya?  Iced tea, Coke, beer, hard lemonade?'

Heaven!

They know how to make people feel right at home!

Mike's Hard Lemonade helps.

Mmmmm.

And chips and guacamole.  Or salsa.

Yummy.

I'm getting homesick just thinking about it.

I got apple cider here in Devon that was just like US cider! I went to a pumpkin day at Riverford Farm and they were pressing apples and then selling the juice for £1 a bottle. It was the same color as US cider (that caramel brown) and we were warned to drink it within a couple days as it was unpasteurized and would go off... I had to keep myself from saying that that was the general idea!!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yum.  I have been wondering the same thing.

I LOVE the stuff.  Used to get it from the little farm stand from the top of my street when I was young.  Grew their own apples and made the stuff.  Delicious.

Real American Cider.  Is it possible to get any in the UK?  This is the only thing I'm missing for my Thanksgiving dinner but don't know where I can get any.  I doubt having it shipped from the States would work; it would probably go bad or be confiscated.
