You won't get 100% the same thing, but you can find close... local orchards are your best bet (like in the USA), but Copella do a decent juice that is close to US cider.. you can always add in extra cinnamon etc if you want.  you want to look for Pressed Apple Juice or Cloudy Apple juice  here (sediment most times included)

Okay... wiki tells us what US apple cider is... PRESSED JUICE USING FIRST OF THE SEASON TART APPLES.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_cider

Listen to me....again please... in the UK you must buy PRESSED APPLE JUICE...

Buy it from a FARMERS MARKET or ORCHARD to get the best!  Ask the nice person selling it for a TART apple flavor.. many times they even have samples so you can find the blend that most reminds you of US apple cider...

*sigh...

you do not I repeat do not have to go without apple cider here there are a ton of apples...  and orchards.. and and....

*sigh...

I get the feeling I am talking to myself sometimes...

Some places I've seen it given a numbering system from 1-5, sweetest to tartest (sort of like the way wine is sometimes numbered according to its dryness)!

Yes one of our local sellers does this... I am trying to find the name now, but  it escapes me... he has about 20 varities of pressed apple juice and he uses a number system...

I assume you can get packets of mulling spices... I've heard that people in the UK do drink mulled wine...

Good to know about the word "pressed". Thanks!
It's so green!

that's all i've ever heard it called in the South.  like hard liquor.

mmm.  that reminds me.  mike's hard lemonade.  nothing like it on a hot summer day. ;)

Did you know Mike's hard lemonade is techincally a beer? The Texas Embassy in London has it (not a lot of help to you I know but thought I'd mention it anyway...)

Yes mulling spices are around a lot at this time of year.  Try speciality food shops.

Actually, Whittards sell some nice spice balls for mulled wine.  I tried them last year and they are not too bad.
