not really...lemme see if i can find a recipe for you, hon!

none of these seem like the exact recipe my mom and sister always use, but there are some similarities with these.

I'll have to get the actual recipe used from my sis...I'll email her and if/when she sends it, I'll post, ok? It's delicious, though!!

Just a quick question...what's the best brand/type of gravy mix to get for going over mashed potatoes & the turkey?  Gravy granules?  Mix from a satchet?  Thanks!

[sacrelige on] I found a recipe for crockpot pork with cranberry and oranges, so I am going to do that on Thanksgiving, with pumpkin pie, green bean casserole. [/sacrelige off] It'll be my nod to Thanksgiving, without having to do the big meal.

Sacrilege or not, i think it sounds really nice.
I cant stand turkey, so if i was going to make a big holiday meal, i would choose pork as well !  :)

3 - 4 lbs pork loin
salt & black pepper to taste
1 cup whole cranberry sauce
2 oranges, peeled, seeded & chopped, with their juice

Brown the loin in the broiler at 350F/177C for approx 20 mins
Put in crockpot and sprinkle with S&P to taste
Combine cranberry sauce & oranges with juice in a bowl, mixing thoroughly
Pour mixture over roast pork in crockpot
Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, or until pork is tender.
If possible, turn meat once or twice during cooking time.

Sounds easy enough, though it means getting started early!

That sounds really delicious!!  Maybe not for Thanksgiving (I'm a die-hard traditionalist), but sounds great for any other meal, yum.

I make a similar one at Christmas, MeShell -- mine has orange zest and Grand Marnier in it. It's so yummy!
