what is pumpkin pie supposed to look like

I just baked my very first pumpkin pie, using a recipe off a link given on this site, it tastes lovely. BUt never actually having tasted it before i have nothing to compare it too. What is the texture supposed to be like??

MIne looks a lot darker than that, but i did you soft dark sugar.

If you used canned pumpkin it will have a smoother custard like texture and the darkness will vary depending on the sugar type you used and also the oven temp and various things like that.

If you use fresh pumpkin the texture is not as smooth and tends to be a bit darker as well.

Thanks for that i used fresh pumpkin and dark sugar. It is a very deep brown. Tastes lovely and sweet!
