TamaMoo, we are not far from each other! I'm in Lexington (my in-laws are in Louisville and we are there quite a lot). I don't know that I'll get to Kentucky Kingdom before we leave though. :)

I'm in Vincennes, IN, currently, but grew up a few miles from Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN, so Louisville was never all that far away. After moving back from the UK (it's been 2 years next month), we lived near Santa Claus again until moving here.

Even now it doesn't feel Louisville is all that far away.  ;D

1.  Finally booked my return flight back to the UK on Icelandair for very little $$$$ and for very little more $$$$ was able to upgrade and I can bring two suitcases for free ;D
Flying one way, as a round trip this time of year is scarily expensive!  :o
I was trying to get a flight with a long layover during the day so I could spend a bit of time exploring on my layover in Reykjavik, but times and dates did not work out, so only have a little more than an hour in the airport  :P Have never flown with them before, but I think I may use the airline again and maybe extend my layover to spend a few hours or days in Iceland when time/dates work out  ;)

2.  Booked our summer vacation, a week on a narrowboat cruising the canals!  8)

1. Discovering we can get Chicago Style hot dogs in town, that are actually rather awesome tasting for being 237 miles from Chicago.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

2. I had a nap earlier. It felt so good.  ;D

1. MIL arrives this evening for a two week visit! She lands at 7 pm.

2. Lots of our fave treats from the UK are in her bag, on their way here.

Found out that my favorite Eleven Year old is coming to stay next week, which means lots of art projects with the kids [but I don't have to supervise!], I won't have to walk the dog in the heat of the day, and on pool days I can just relax because she will be making sure the littles don't drown [for the most part].

Even though the process has been really stressful getting her registered, I no longer have to worry about our trip to the UK in November and my child missing school. I found out that we can withdraw her when we leave and re-register her when we get back.  Perhaps I should just keep her out all the way through the Christmas Holiday, lol?

1. We came home from work today to a home cooked meal. Not only was it wonderful to have someone else cook, but it was the first cooking that has happened in this apartment since MIL landed Wednesday evening. We have been out every meal.

2. Joey is getting more comfortable with letting me give him scritches on his head and neck. He likes belly rubs, but has been skittish so far about having his head touched. He was hand fed as a baby, and still willingly accepts seeds and treats hand fed to him.

1. We found some standing shelves for the kitchen, which look nearly new but a bit dusty, at a flea market type shop in town, for $6 today. Hooray!

2. We can now move the bulky, not very efficient as shelving (huge) desk we have been using for that purpose into the spare room after MIL's visit. It will work for storing clothes and other things, yet be tucked away where it doesn't matter if it is taking up some room.

And if I may...

3. I played with a beautiful, sweet, pit bull pup today. Her name is Molly, she is less than a year old, and living proof it is not the breed, but some owners, who make dogs of certain breeds get a rep for being dangerous. She stole my heart.

Edited to correct my thought.

1. Just filed my FBAR...hopefully I did it right though I figure attempted compliance even if it's not perfect is better than wilfully not filing it. Next year I'm hiring someone to do my taxes as I'll actually have income to report and not be living off student loan money!

2. It's the first day of my vacation week (even though I don't work Saturdays I'm counting it)....have the whole next week off and I'm not going anywhere so I get to just relax around the flat and do whatever I want!

Deep Breaths, lol

My husband has said he doesn't want to live in London, and that's a huge weight off my chest.  As exciting as it would have been, I don't think my nerves could handle it, lol.

Have finished the claim forms for my cancelled trip to SF. My shrink did a wonderful job filling in that I was too anxious to fly or even to travel at the time [true, especially since I would have had a 5 year old in tow, and would be leaving my 4 year old behind, who has many food allergies and I would be worried that she died]. Thank god I bought the insurance AND had a legitimate medical reason for not flying. It has taken me many weeks to gather what I needed for this claim, and I'm glad it's done.

1. There was an unexpected (we still have no clue why we got it) refund check in the mail from AT&T today. It was only $26.80, but still that much more than we had.

2. We booked tickets to see Monty Python 'live' on the 20th. Granted, we will be 4000 miles away and seeing it in Evansville, IN, but it will be broadcast live.
