I still can't believe that someone is willing to pay me to spend all day in a library.

1. Sunshine and a promised high of 61f today. It I cant't have snow, this will make also me perfectly happy.

2. A co-worker picked up a bag of garam masala for us. We've decided to take advantage of the weather and walk the 5.2 mile round trip to work this afternoon and pick it up and pay him for it.

1. Snow! We have about 6 inches, maybe 7 and it is beautiful.

2. The tv to myself tonight. Poor hubs is down and out with fever, chills, aches and the works. I feel bad for him, but I am indulging myself with a Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau marathon.

Would you like some more snow, Tama?!

1. A full-size refrigerator that I can see into without getting down on my hands and knees.

2. Insulation and a roof that does not need constantly repairing.

Wish I could put things like that in my suitcase.

I only have one thing that I'm happy about:

I scored tickets to see Blur!! This is honestly the best thing that's ever happened to me (aside from seeing Pulp a few years ago, a godsend in a year where everything fell apart for me). Blur have been my favourite band since I was 15, and listening to them growing up really made me believe that living in England could be a possibility for a poor black weirdo from the suburbs. Their music (and the side/solo projects of Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon) have been with me at every stage of my life over the past 16 years, from graduating uni to moving here, to getting citizenship this year. When they broke up I figured that was it and I would never get to live out my teenage dreams (especially since I was too poor to see them in 2009), but I'm finally seeing them! I almost cried at work because of this yesterday.
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

Sure! There is a chance of about 1/2 an inch tomorrow night, but I'd gladly take more than that!  ;D We still have snow on the ground, but this close to spring I will take all I can get before having to wait again.

1, We're now into jacket weather for a bit before we can ditch those too.

2. I have already started spring cleaning, and intend to do some more Friday. The odd part is I find myself looking forward to seeing how many boxes I can fill to donate.

1. Joining my job's union!

2. Compiling a list of stuff needed for the house I'm buying later in the year (woohoo, no more roommates, except my husband). It's nice being able to finally plan for the future and having a proper, permanent job as well.

1. Joey seems to have moved past the worst of his springtime hormonal crabbiness/territorial grumpiness. I know birds get that way in spring, but my little boy was a complete crabnasty for a couple weeks. I'm happy to see the sweet version of him returning.

2. Another raise at work. This one was only 5 cents, but hey, it all adds up.
