all pizza must be eaten with a knife & fork.

cardboard frozen pizza? knife & fork.

takeaway pizza? knife & fork.

stuffed chicago-style pizza? knife & fork.

there are no exceptions.

Im also the same way. I think it stems back from when I was a teenager and wore braces and didnt want pizza gunk stuck in them.

jonieverson--I've actually seen more than one person do the exact same thing with a package of starburst. I wonder what about them inspires that ritual?

My weird food habit is that I often leave one bite on my plate when I'm through eating, and feel that I couldn't possibly eat that last bite, or I would be way too full. I do it especially with sandwiches and desert. I realize that it's totally psychological.

No offense intended, but some of you guys are just weird......   ;D

That's not to say I haven't had my moments.  When I was a kid Cadbury's made a milk chocolate bar which was fairly thin.  I used to take two of them and sandwich salt & vinegar crisps (potato chips) between them.

Then there was a commercial running on TV at one time in which mom was away and dad had to cope with feeding the kids (or letting them feed themselves).  The line at one point was "Choc-ice and chips?  Don't tell your mother!"   Obviously I just had to try that combination!    (That's British chips = fries.)

These days I don't do anything weird, unless you count having salad cream with fish.  Some people seem to think that's strange!   :P

-I refuse to eat cheese on pizza and I don't like it on my plate, I give it to my husband.
-I used to love tomatoes, but I don't like the bits on the inside anymore, they remind me of something gross....
-When I eat different coloured candy, I make them into piles according to colour, then I either eat them in order or most to least or least to most.
-The only time I'll drink milk, is when it's with cereal or as chocolate milk, or when I have spaghetti. If I try to drink it on it's own, it makes my throat snotty.

I go through phases of eating the same thing for months on end, then I can't eat them for a while, sometimes I'll just stop eating it for good. When I was in this outpatient mental place I had cup of noodles everyday for 3 months, and I haven't really had any since... I think this was about 7 years ago.

I've got a gross one....my only defense is that I was pregnant.  I made a sandwich, 2 pieces of white bread, miracle whip (which I normally can't stand) and Reese's Peanut Butter cups.  I don't think I could stomach that now, but back then...yum yum.

This thread is bloody hysterical! I love how everyone thinks everyone elses thing is gross or weird, then has some of their own ;D

I have some too, but I imagined I was literally just weird.

No peas, ever on or near my plate - little round wrinkled green nasty things.
I must always eat the least fave items first and save the "best til last" (seems to be quite a common one)
On a roast dinner, I cannot have gravy on the stuffing. It also can only slighly cover the food, not swim in it- if there is another liquid-y food on the plate (like cheese sauce on cauliflower for example), the gravy must not seep into the cheese sauce
I have to eat potato chips in a bowl, I don't like them from a bag
I have phases of foods, I can eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 6mths, then I go off it or barely, ever eat it again. Right now it's ham or ham and cheese toasties ,clam chowder and bagels.
As a child my favorite food was a little white dinner roll, spread with dairylea on the inside and then fresh hot french fries in the middle
I can only eat bread that is "fresh" - ie the first day you buy it when it's crusty and soft. Hours or a day later when it's soft and chewy, no chance :D
The smell of microwave popcorn (the buttery kind) makes me nauseous and I HATE pasta and red sauce with a passion (same with red sauce pizzas)

Me too! Me too! On both of those!!!

Re the popcorn, I hate it so much that I'd rarely go to the movies in the US (I find people over here go more for chocolate than popcorn). That smell ... UGH. I don't want to gross out popcorn lovers, but to me it always smells of urine. Same with cornflakes, so I guess it's not entirely the fake butter -- though that doesn't help. I think for me it's something that happens to corn while it's being processed that makes it smell of pee. I love corn on the cob, so it's not all corn products.

Did I mention that I hate toast?  I think that's pretty strange.  Nothing against bread - love the stuff, just don't like it all crunchy & crumbly & dry!!

the pasta sauce thing made me laugh, when i was pregnant where I worked we are directly across from pizza hut, and one day for some ridiculous reason, i decided I needed a cup full of pizza sauce to dip my plain cheese pizza in, yes, a small sized cup, full of sauce?! anyhow, i have a weird thing chris does with chips, if there happens to be a crispy one, he considers this to be his newly found chip fork, with which to stab at and eat the other soft chips, i save my " chip forks" for him from mine, i hate them, i always seem to manage to hurt myself on them?  :P

Oh my gosh, I don't like the smell of cornflakes either, but I never made a connection!  The pasta thing is difficult because I am married to an Italian...and he loves is pasta and sauce (it's the combination of that and basil I think URGH!

There's two more I was thinkin about - I have to leave if I smell milk being heated on a stove......oh no, no, no!

The other one is toast. If I am going to eat it immediately, the butter can be put on it to melt in, but if it's going to take a few minutes, I have to wait for it to cool down and then butter it!  ::)

Another one: I hate cereal with milk (but I like eating my Cheerios with yoghurt...I only eat very plain cereals and only with yoghurt).  Also I don't like salad.  No, really.  I dislike lettuce quite strongly, but love spinach salads.

I used to know a girl who dipped lettuce leaves into sugar before eating them.

I cant really think of any weird food habits I have!
Some of my friends think i eat some weird things, but it's just because i grew up in the US... cultural differences, not really true weirdness.
